$50k San Francisco, CA USA

Alex plays a qualifier in the first round on wednesday. Hopefully Alex makes full use of her WC and at least makes round 2.

Go Alex!

Re: $50k San Francisco, CA USA

I may not have to work Wednesday, so hopefully I'll be able to see Alex play, which I haven't done since the '04 Stanford qualies. I still think she should hang up her racquets and move on with her life, but since she's here and it won't cost me anything, why not?

Update:

The qualifier that she'll face is Surina De Beer. The #2 seed Cravero just lost today so Alex's draw has opened up very significantly.

There's a thin line between optimism and delusion, and you're in danger of crossing it.

Unfortunately, it's raining today, so unless they can relocate to the San Francisco Tennis Club, Alex won't play until tomorrow.

They'll most likely relocate. They did a couple weeks ago in Ashland. Besides, i don't want Alex to potentially have to play two matches in one day.

Also, this will give Alex an opportunity to bitch about the indoor courts, lighting, etc.

Very much so, especially if she
continues her good play.

Alex just plays ball, my friend. Samantha does all the complaining.

The weather here cleared up, so they are playing outdoors at the Golden Gateway club. No word yet on how Alex did.

Why would I be happy about a bright, talented young lady wasting her time?

You've just joined Paneru in the Land of Delusion, my friend. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Let people be "delusional" if they want to...And stop spreading all this hate on this board...I don't know you, but you seem like a very hateful person...

Yeah, because what is that compared to your
little sad world of selling everyone and
everything short.

I guess then, you don't get disappointed
because you never expect anything good
in the first place.

Hope you never man a
suicide hotline.

I don't understand how i'm delusional just because i'm a fan of hers.

I hope she does well, but it's not like i'm saying she's going to win Wimbledon as she thinks she will.
