Williams Camp Reorganization Alert- Pls Come In Now!!!

You may already have seen a variance of this post in another thread.
However, thinking the topic deserves serious discussion by Williams fans and others, I have created this dedicated thread.
__________________________________________________ ______
I am pushing it, but I feel strongly about this.

I'd like you to play CEO and suggest a reorganization in the William Camp.

Here is the outline of my proposals

Venus and Serena coaching staff.
  • Move Oracene to mother role full time
  • Leave Richard as only full time coach
This reorganization will add nothing but benefits to all parties innvolved
  • More judicious use of training and pratice time. Oracene tends to engage in cout side chat
  • Venus needs, requires, and likes structure, which Richard provides
  • Venus needs support and nurturing off court, which Oracene provides so beautfully
  • Same for Serena, although I doubt Serena needs as much nurturing as she does structure.
  • Richard will be in full charge and implement all the ideas he has been taking note on the past few years
  • Oracene will play the role she feels most comfortable and excels in

Why don't you post this in the Williams sisters forum?

This seems to be more tailor made for Venus to succeed and not Serena. Serena does better with Oracene.

It may not be broken, but it is not functioning as well as before.
Few years ago Venus and Serena were not as busy off the court as they are now,
so they had more time to train and hone skills or work on new things.
Now, time bas become scarce as demand of their time off the court has increased. Under these circumstances, Richard or Oracene have not had enough time to prepare them. I believe Richard leaves in Florida, Serena in LA, Venus company based in Florida and I believe that is also her home base

Somebody needs to instill more control, structure and discipline in their tennis training and preparation regiment. And that is what this proposal is about.
Even Richard has lamented at time on their lack of dedication and preparation.
He said once, they would be on top again if they dedicate themselves

lol ... chill a bit and take a deep breath.

tennis was never and (probably) never will be ... the sole Williams' focus. i suspect the organization (which you may think lacking) is flexible enuff to accommodate young women with opportunities galore.

let 'em be.

That made me laugh out loud. I think both sisters can function very well the way things are.

But i was concerned at the french when Venus said she didn't know who karatantceva was until after she beat her. Shouldn't her mom.. sorry.. coach have been scouting, seeing the possible threats in the draw? Venus should have been ready. So i agree with you.

I completely agree.

But if it works for them....

ditto.
the only thing I would fix, is that they should have someone scouting new talent for them, esp. Venus. She's a lil shaky with new players.

Venus Williams-- My tennis inspiration

I am more of a Venus fan so I may be biased.
But I think she would thrive more in a structured environment.
Oracene will play more of an emotional support role and off court social buddy. Having seen a glimpse of Venus and Oracene together, Oracene would be very good at this

What does Amelie's coach have to with the WS preparations?

Besides, I am not demeaning her in anyway. All I am suggesting is that she is better and more efffective being a moral support to her daughters. She has done an good job taking them this far.
At this point in their career and given the demand on their time, they need a more efficient and effective way of preparing for tournaments.
And I am suggesting Richard is better suited to play the primary role of coach.
It is just a different division of labor.
And remember, this is an opinion forum.
