Neither Sabrina Santamaria or Kaitlyn Christian would be expected to make a big splash in the WTA as a singles player or perhaps, even as another doubles player, but together combined as a doubles team there is a unique chemistry that I've been wondering for a long time, whether that would translate to success on the WTA tour, as they won every possible title on the college level, as noted by Joey Dillon
They're both headed to their first WTA final at AbiertoTelcel.
Off to a blazing start this year, already winning the 100k in Midland/ITF and making it to the SF at Newport Beach/WTA.
Sabs has a blog out
. KK hasn't kept quiet either, as she filled-in as a double in a movie
about BJK, Battle of the Sexes.
They're both one of the most interesting doubles players out there, certainly fun to watch
with Sab's defensive lobs from the backcourt and with KK swarming at the net. You are more likely expect to see them play at public tennis court and not a private and exclusive tennis club.
I don't know if there's a better "odd couple" out there, especially who has been playing together since they were juniors and in college.
I'm definitely rooting for them!!!
