At the start of the match, Ai was on fire. I really expected her to run out of gas sooner or later becuz of her conditions. She was up 3-1 before Kim really took it from her, winning 6-3 in the first. At this point im thinking Kim will take it in two...but Ai proves me wrong. She doesn't have a good start in the 2nd set, but manages to counter punch everything Kim gives her. Kim's net ability wasn't so great either, missing about 3 overhead smashes. She tried to make Ai run more by doing drop shots (which worked twice) but the 3rd time Ai caught up with it. Then there was a rain delay, and when they came out, it was all Ai. She had the shots, and Kim couldn't keep up. That's bout it...
finally seen a few seconds of the match via the BBC
The match was actually mentioned on BBC World. A clip too.
Oh- so it was a huge counter puncher running match eh?
Considering that Ai had to play against such big hitters/
and power servers all week- this is quite fantastic.
I can so believe it. Tennis coverage seems to stopped completely except for the Slams. I remember 2 years ago when they showed the semifinals and finals of an event a week after it's completed. That was good considering what we have now, or rather what we don't have.
