Hi. First of all, I'll give the big news- I saw Dokic practicing with Schiavone. Dokic is there. Dokic got an MD WC.

anyways let me tell y'all about the matches I saw today:

Afinogenova vs Van Horne

I only saw MP lol. Sorry  Van Horne is pretty good for a 13 year old though. 6-2 6-3

Jankovic vs Lee-Waters

I saw just the 2nd set. Jankovic was playing pretty well but then she got hurt. Groin injury I believe. 6-4 1-2 ret for Lee-Waters

Camille Pin vs Sarah Taylor

The crowd was very pro-Pin. Pin was more agressive. Taylor was content to hit slice backhands all day. They had some very good points. About even with winners and errors. They got the center court crowd involved and they were both very emotional. Taylor won 6-3 in the 3rd set

Huber vs Mikalayeva
Mikalayeva was effective...when she got the ball in. Huber was the more consistent player. 6-0 6-3 Huber. Mikalayeva was very nice. I talked to her after the match and she was very nice and down to earth.

Suuvarik vs Antonella Serra-Zanetti
This was some very powerful tennis from both players. Many great power baseline points. Antonella has really bulked up; she was pounding it. Good math from both. 6-1 6-2 Antonella

Irvin vs Arn

I only saw a bit of this match. Irvin seemed a little bit out of sorts at times, but the tennis wasn';t too good from Greta. Irvin played ok, but on a different day, she may have lost this match.
6-4 6-1 Irvin

Bradshaw vs Kapros
Oh gosh, Kapros did what she had to, but Allison looked atrocious. She was totally out of sync with herself. Ugly match to watch. 6-3 6-0 Kapros

Foretz vs Loeffler-Caro lol
LoL. From the first ball struck in warmup, I felt bad for nancy. She couldnt keep the ball in during warmup! Nancy began serving in the match and she tossed in 3 doubles in the first game. However, it was her closest game; she got to 30 all after a couple return errors from stefanie. The rest of the match was AWFUL. Just AWFUL. Balls were being hit off the fence, over the fance and some shots didnt make it to the net. lol. I can see why Nancy loses 6-0 6-0 all the time. Her first serve is like 50 MPH or something. Really bad

Cargill vs DeVilliers
Didnt see any of this match but ansley won comfortably.

Cohen-Aloro vs Bartoli
Great Match. I saw parts of each set. I saw most of the third. Kapros got injured at 5-5 in the 3rd and she got the trainer and took an injury timeout leading 6-5. She fought hard, but was not the same player after that. 7-4 in the tiebreak for Cohen-Aloro.
The match itself was the highest quality match of the day. Great points all-round.

Players I saw practicing today:

Dokic
Bedanova
Schiavone
Dechy
Shaughnessy
Rubin
Schett
Danilidou
Zvonareva

Did Chanda have tape on her knee or anything, I'm very concerned for her lately.

Thanks ZZ!!:D

I looked at the draw on teh wta web-site, and the only WC went to Lucic. Normally they post WC next to the name, and she was the only who had it.

I wonder. I thought there were more WC's.

Bovina looked pretty good(in more than one way ;))
She was hitting the ball very well as usual.

And yes, Marion got injured and took an injury timeout. It was something in the calf area.

She was striking her forehand and serve well, backhand was a little off.

And yes I am going today
