If Capriati could, I think it would be beneficial to her to withdraw from Dubai and get a wildcard here! But of course she can't do that! It's too bad because this tourney is closer to home and I think she could gain her confidence back here!

how would that help? seriously, I think it's a bad idea. Jen needs to play the top players. And playing here, she will lose points even if she wins the title [she will lose RU pts from Scottsdale...she's not returning there].

I think her scheduling isn't good. Flying way over to UAE for one week? Then back to the USA. I question her schedule.

I third that... and I think it would make more sense to play Memphis anyway. There's not a huge points differential between the Dubai and Memphis tournies... and she'd get more matches under her belt in Memphis, plus the chance of winning... where in Dubai, she'd get one easier match, then get her butt kicked in the QF by someone like Seles.

well, I agree about the flying. But, I just think if she were to play Memphis, and WIN...people would say "No one was there". Remember 2001...Hingis and Dubai? Hingis was the ONLY top 10er. I remember a lot people gave her flack.

No, Nathalie Tauziat and Mary Pierce was the Top 10 when they played Dubai 2001 I clearly remember Rachel McQuillan beat Mary Pierce ranked 7 in the Quarterfinals.
