Serena/Venus may dominate womens tennis, but their sportsmanship is disgusting!

I was disgusted by Venus today, just like I was by Serena in her match with Loit. We all know Serena copped a fine and was ungracious of her opponent but its seems that Venus is no better.

Today during a point against Nicole Pratt, Venus was scrambling for a shot Nicole hit right in the far corner, as she dived and got a racquet to the ball her hat fell off. Venus shot went out but the umpire incorrectly ruled to replay the point as Venus' hat fell off. Both players know the rules and the point was rightly Pratt's. Had Pratt called the referee to come out Peter Bellinger would have been able to overrule the umpire and give the point to Nicole over the technicality.

I just think it was incredibly poor of Venus not to approach the umpire and give the point to Nicole. The whole crowd and commentators thought the same. The Williams Sisters dominate tennis enough, they dont need to cheat!! And sure Nicole was certainly giving Venus a very hard time and it was a tough match for her but that doesnt excuse it.

And to cap it off Venus was interviewed on court after the match and the commentator was asking her about the match expecting her to say that Nicole played great and really took it too her instead though their was no nice things at all to say about Nicole. In her post match interview though she was a little more complimentary.

are you dumb AusBoy, do you want her to give away points which she didn't lose? if it is the umpire's fault why should Venus change it? Should she praise her opponent to death when she doesn't feel like praising them...she just doesn't care what dumbasses think she should act, as she said if they are doing it wrong, maybe someone should get up and show them how it's done, so far no challengers as far as I can see.
Look at other players, they have more flaws that should be called disgusting but are not, yet Venus' behavious is called disgusting when she doesn't PRAISE a player, why is she supposed to anways, and anyways she did say very nice things in her interview!

For starters Venus wasnt awarded a point, the umpire asked the point to be replayed even though Venus had hit her shot way out!!

Venus should take note from players like Suarez and Iroda on court. They dont cheat when it comes to rules of tennis! Im not talking about line calls, Im talking about rules to do with interruption of play. All the players know these rules and Venus was very wrong in her refusal to approach the umpire. It was a shame Pratt didnt get the referee out.

And yes Venus is courteous in her main post match media interview. But the courtside one str8 after her match she was appaling and she basically insinuated that Pratt was a crap player.

Is it that she insinuated that Pratt was a crap player, or did YOU INTERPRET her comments that way? You do know that there is a difference, right?

AUSBOY,

you must really be the dumbest fan ever.
How is it venus fault when an umpire rules the point
in her favor? or replay. It is not venus job to be compassionate
on court. If you're not aware, this was a tennis match
not a love connection. Everyone is there to compete
not to kiss cheeks.

get it through your thick head.
Nicole was beaten fair and square; perhaps next time
she should stay home instead of showing up on court.

go venus, go serena.
get them one, get them all.

Omg this thread SHOCKED ME! No really I am stunned... I am also amazed at the things people see and feel. I am shocked at the statements in AUSBOY's intial reply to his thread. One day some Aussie chic will rule... one fine day.

Q. The crowd was obviously expected to be behind Nicole. Her level of play, I thought was very high. Were you expecting that?
VENUS WILLIAMS: Sure, I was expecting her to play really well. This is her first appearance in the Round of 16. I guess the only thing she's thinking is, "Why not go a little further?" Of course, I'm thinking the same thing, take another step towards possibly being the victor at this tournament.
You know, more than anything, I know she's a really good competitor, no matter what the score is, how far down she was. I did know going into the match I would have to compete.

DID ANYONE READ THE INTERVIEW????????????????????????????????
