Question Does Stosur have a chance against Hantuchova

Well hopefully not!

I've never even seen her play except a few points the other day. I've seen in an Uncle Toby's commercial though LOL.

So has she got the game? What does she play like?

I dont think she has much of a chance but she'll give it a go! Something like a 6-3 6-3 probably.

She has a great serve, can hit it quite hard (in her first round was hitting lots of 170km+ serves), a solid two handed backhand and a decent forehand, but from what I saw that could use a bit more work. She is a natural volleyer, and is very comfortable at the net, the only thing she really needs now is consistency!

After the weird matches on the womens side this week Im never going to predict a walk in the park for anyone ever again Daniela isn't in the best of form right now, and is a little vulnerable, but I think she'll safely make it through.

Well..I want Danny to win; but I didn't see Loit or
Marlene having a ghost of a chance in their match up
against a top 10 tennis player. Who's to say what
can happen? It's just been that kind of tennis
season this year.

stosur plays a lot like molik did before this year. she has a big serve and is a good volleyer but still needs to work on her groundies. she was very inconsistent in the juniors but we'll have to wait and see how she plays in the seniors.

Go the aussies! stosur!!!
and good luck russians: dementieva, safina, kirilenko, sharapova, kuznetsova, bovina, zvonareva, dushevina.

also good luck to: azarenka, lucic, sprem, vakulenko, vaidisova, safarova, ivanovic, groenefeld, mirza, krajicek, kvitkova, larcher de brito, lisicki.

I think Sam has a chance. From what I saw of her match against Vanessa Webb, Sam is benefitting from the Aussie Assault Training Camp. She has good consistent groundies, finds a way to come forward, and her serve looks good. Her mobility is good too. She's a strongly-built girl and I think she'll give Daniela something to think about. Sam has the advantage. Daniela has probably never had the chance to watch Sam play, whereas Sam has had more of an opportunity to watch Daniela play. Fingers crossed that Sam will push Dani all the way, if not beat her.

I think Samantha have a good chance to beat Daniela just because Daniela played not well and Samantha played pretty well all of this week.

It must have been one hell of a camp the Aussies went to. So many are doing great this year! I heard Kraijcek went to that camp too but it obviously didnt benefit him as much. I havent seen Stosur play before so i cant comment but i hope Daniela can get through.

anyone has a chance when they walk onto court

but i hope not, Sam certainly possesses a pretty hefty serve.
Dani hasn't been playing well but stuggled thru.

Sam would need a good start to pull it off.

Good luck to my favs

I think much will depend on how Dani plays. She hasn't been overly impressive so far, however if she brings her A game I think it will be goodbye Sam.

Of course as an Australia I am hoping that Sam can pull it off.

Stosur played about 50% better in her thrashing of Vanessa Webb compared to Martinez. I think she stands an excellent chance against Daniela, she likes the pace and Hantuchova will give her that. Dont rule Sam out even if it a huge task ahead of her, she is playing fantastic right now. I dont think she has too many weaknesses at all Daniela will find it tough going as long as Stosur doesnt get overawed and fall in a heap.
