Canadians keep complaining about the how ESPN shows americans and they are biased....

Well I want to know this? Why the hell won't Canada get their own sports network stations? I mean we have ESPN and FOX. Why can't they get their own coverage and stations? Why do they bother with ESPN in America?

Does anyone know why Canada can't cover ther own tennis, and show what they and there people want to watch?

I am very grateful that we get to watch ESPN's coverage, however biased. Keep in mind though that Americans complain plenty about ESPN's coverage as well. During the French Open, they showed a taped match of Venus giving someone a double bagel while Lleyton Hewitt was in a very close live match!

We don't watch ESPN.

We watch TSN, one of the three Canadian sports networks. They buy their tennis from ESPN.

You have to answer for Santino, Carlo.

Hey, I can't stand ESPN. It SUX ASS. I just don't understand why Canada can't own there own sports stations.

Ok, thanks disposable so why do they have to BUY from us, America? Can't they own there own networks? Cause if they did and it was better then USA, hell I'll watch Canada's version.

Well i'm sure the main reason is..who are the Canadian networks gonna cover! Most of the time there is one Canadian in the whole draw..if there were as many Canadians as there are Americans in the draw i'm sure they would do their own coverage. The only time TSN does it's own coverage is for the Rogers Cup and the Bell Challenge obviously, other than that it's all American.

Well if you would like to watch back to back Lleyton (you know, Lleyton playing, Lleyton practising, Lleyton watching Kim/Scott Draper, Lleyton in toilet paper ads) interspersed with Aussie wildcards, you could suggest they buy from the Aussie networks instead - but it's just as annoying.

I think the problem is that tv stations think that audiences are more jingoistic and stupid than they actually are. I suspect the advertisers demanding matches that will supposedly draw audiences doesn't help either.

The easy answer: Canada is too busy following the NHL, the world juniors, or any other hockey tournament or league that is apparently the most important thing of all time. There are just not enough broadcast hours and staff to meet the needs of Hockey, then consider other sports

The hard answer: You'd have to understand more about the economy, how much money TSN has to be sending their own people to Australia, who as the rights to what tournaments, etc etc.

If it was that "simple" or TSN cared enough about something like TSN, we would have our own coverage, duh.

OUr NHL coverage is unparralled btw
