Great list!
Cut-off higher than some international main draw lists

Although many withdrawals can occur, IDK if it will get all the way down to #143

Top 50 players can't enter but can accept wildcard (either top 50 or normal one), provided that they are out of Indian Wells before 4pm on Sunday.

WTA 125 on the 2nd week of a Grand Slam/Premier Mandatory is allowed to have four players ranked 11-50.

So as of now, up to the maximum of 4 top 50 players could yet get a wild card: The 2 top 50-only wildcards, plus the 2 remaining standard wild cards. I assume they will hold off on giving out any more wild cards until as late as possible.

Yes. 2 standard (Bellis & Hantuchova) + 4 Top 50 (out of which 2/4 can be used as standard ones as a last resort) .

Yes, they will wait but there's also a rule :

iii. Nomination Deadlines

(a) The Tournament Director must provide a tentative list of all Wild Card nominations seven (7) days prior to the start of the Main Draw of the Tournament.

(b) The Tournament Director must advise the WTA or the Supervisor in writing of the singles Wild Card nominations and Alternate Wild Card nominations by 4:00 p.m. tournament local time, the day of Qualifying Sign-In. If there is no Qualifying event, Wild Card nominations must be made in writing by Friday, 4:00 p.m. tournament local time the week preceding the Tournament, or by 4:00 p.m. tournament local time the day before the draw is made, whichever comes first.

So this tournament is in San Antonio, which is an hour off from California. So anyone who's still in IW that's top 50 at 3:00 PM Cali time becomes automatically ineligible, but given when play starts, it's more like anyone who's not alive in IW after Thursday has an opportunity to play here, four of whom will undoubtedly be top 50, yes?

Two hours behind Indian Wells. So by 2 PM Indian Wells time.

So everyone who exists IW in R1 or R2 can play San Antonio. And also R3 players who are scheduled to play R3 on Sunday from 11am (or later, if retirements/ very short matches occur), given that it finishes before 2pm.

Four Top 50 (22nd of February Rankings) for the WCs, if such candidates remain. But given there were at least 9 desirerers on the pre-entry list, there will most likely be 4, even with the restrictions.

Play starts Monday. No qualifying. I hope you found your answer cause the last part of the question confused me a little

You did, more or less agree with what I said, I just phrased it differently. With the number of players in Indian Wells, I am 100% sure that there will be enough top 50 players out by Thursday, or verrrry early Friday (because the most shocking thing you said to me was that San Antonio was Central lol), to five four WCs too, otherwise the tournament would have probably given an idea of who the other two were going to, but it hinges entirely upon whether or not a player has lot in Indian Wells, because I'm sure you can't skip a PM and then play the back leg on a 125K wildcard. I assume you mean anyone who exits IW in R1 or R2, not exists?

Anyway, I do wonder if there is any sort of restriction on doubles entries in 125Ks? It would seem like players in the top ten shouldn't be able to play these events, if you consider things even. But I doubt there is.

Exits. Of course. Typo.

Right now, San Antonio Texas is 2 hours ahead of Indian Wells California but looks like it's DST time on that date so it will be 1 hour I think.

About Doubles :

ii. WTA 125K Wild Card

Each WTA 125K will receive one (1) doubles Wild Card spot. The number of Top 11-50 Players allowed to accept a doubles Wild Card spot varies based on the scheduling of the WTA 125K. (See chart in Section III.C.4.a.ii.)

It'll still be 2 hours.

I'll have to wait and see who these WCs go to before I make a decision to drive down for a day or two.

Given that it's being held the second week of Indian Wells, a qualifying competition would have been the biggest mess imaginable. Not because anyone in the Indian Wells MD would have been trying to qualify here, but because they would have disrupted a qualifying competition by them dropping into and out of the MD here at the last minute.
