Arakawa vs Tomic was a crazy match. Haruna was getting pretty vocal towards the end and you could tell Sara was pretty fed up with it. When they shook hands at the end, Sara nearly had her back turned to Haruna and then appeared to fake out the umpire

So glad to see Asia kick off her Australian trip with a great win here. She's not defending Templeton this coming week (playing in Darwin instead), but at least the points that she picked up here will help take some of the pressure off, as she hardly has any other points to defend for the rest of the fall, and she's playing some great tennis right now!

Much needed win for Asia, needs a good run of results here in Australia to get her ranking high enough to secure a spot in Melbourne qualies next year. Good start and hope she can keep it going!

"Religion has actually convinced people that there is an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. Any if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But he loves you."

You obviously didn't watch the doubles final. For most of it she played about as well as someone ranked 500, not 50. She was lucky that nobody was playing particularly well, but Fanning and Myers were definitely superior to her and Inglis over the last half of the match.

In singles. I watched the whole match, and she played fantastic tennis for most of it.

Re: W25 Cairns (AUS) 2019 | Sep 16 (Draws)

Glad to see Asia is staying in Oz for the next few weeks when it would have been very tempting to focus on doubles in Wuhan and Beijing. I still think she can crack the Top 100 with the right schedule and hopefully another couple of big runs can put her on the right track for 2020.
