Probably the most promising Kazakh youngster atm (and not a Kazakh girl with clear Russian/Ukrainian origins, which is not so common)
Zhibek is 15 (born March 26, 2000), she's from Almaty and still lives there.
She's already in the junior Top 200 (reached a CHR of 179 in August)!
She's won 1 tournament so far this year: G4 Almaty International Junior Tournament at home in July (she was the top seed there, and she beat unseeded Eliza Askarova in the final, 3-6 6-2 6-1); she made one more final earlier in Astana in February, at G4 Capital Cup (she was the 2nd seed there, fell to top seed and fellow Kazakh Gozal Ainitdinova in the final, 4 & 2
Gozal almost is 2 years older though...
She also has 3 more SF appearances (at G4 AGS 3 International Junior Champs in Jakarta in June, at G4 ITF Lion Cup in July, and at G3 NBU Cup in Tashkent in August) and 3 more QF appearances (at G3 Namangan International Junior Tournament in Uzbekistan in March, at G4 Thamrin Cup International Junior Championships in Jakarta in June, and at G4 International Flower Bulb Tournament
in the Netherlands in June) at junior tournaments this year!
She won 2 G5s back to back in Sri Lanka in October last year (beating Milana Lysova in both finals
), so she has 3 G18 singles titles so far, and is 3/4 on G18 finals.
This week, she's playing her 2nd pro tournament ever only at 10K Shymkent in Kazakhstan, where she received a MDWC. And she's qualified for the QFs with a 6-0 7-5 win over Alexandra Grinchishina (almost 20 yo, WTA 1072, CHR 603) in R1, and 6-2 7-5 over (6)Daria Lodikova (19 yo, WTA 686) in R2
QF vs. (2)Sofia Kvatsabaia (27 yo, Top 400 player for a long time) should be tough but very interesting...
Best of luck in the future!
