According to an October 10, 1941, news report, Dorothy Bundy Cheney and the other touring players from the United States were scheduled to arrive in Rio de Janeiro by boat on October 23. While in South America, they were scheduled to visit Ecuador, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, and possibly Venezuela. Results were found only from the Argentine Championships in Buenos Aires, although there were published reports that the players were competing in Chile December 3-5 and arrived in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to play a series of matches there December 22-24. Note that the players did not cancel their tour after the Pearl Harbor attacks.
