Re: Mirjana's 2017 American Swing
Probably best if she is not seeded or expected to do anything.
She's a delightful "momentum performer," as she proved during the 2014 US Open run, followed by superb Quebec titles. (That was 3 years ago. Her last singles AND doubles titles.)
But she TOTALLY screwed-the-pooch as a seeded player at the two biggest, most obvious events this year.
Not a champion mentality.
It wasn't even mere failure, it was GHASTLY failure.
Cagla B? Witthoft?
That crap was not even acceptable, from any planet. Miki chokes herself before she goes on the court. Heartbreaking.
Most unfortunate, because her game is so crisp and so powerful and so massive, but the woman simply hasn't got a sporting killer-instinct brain.
Certainly she could achieve another decent result, this year. But don't get too hopeful.
When she was totally in position to achieve historical results, and to assert her power, she flopped OUTRAGEOUSLY.
I defy any of the other longtime fans here to tell me that her R1 Wimbledon loss/implosion was anything beyond insane/embarrassing. Career-crushing.
I love Miki a lot, but she's toast.
With her massive, powerful, buxom game, there was no excuse whatsoever for her French and Wimbledon cesspool-performances.
I doubt she'll win many rounds the rest of this year.
Mentally she's got issues, in terms of how to win matches, and doesn't even know how to win a first round match at Wimbledon with match points. Impossible.
Love Miki so much, but thumbs down. Pressure crushes her, and champs thrive on pressure.
