Re: Serve or Return - Which do you prefer?

I personally want to have a killer return... buuuuut with my current game, honestly, a better serve (1st and 2nd) is much more needed. I can get into a zone on return, but my serve is consistently weak/attackable especially on the 2nd serve.

Return, because I totally SUCK at serving I mean, even Errani has a faster 2nd serve than mine.

Re: Serve or Return - Which do you prefer?

I prefer to serve because I'm more in control for that than I am in for receiving. Some of you say you are not very good at returning. You can give yourself a fighting chance to hit hard serves by standing on or behind the baseline and simply blocking the ball back over the net. You can handle serves that curve toward your crotch more easily by taking a step sideways as the ball comes in on you like that.

Serving first gives you an advantage according to stat guys. I prefer serving as I have pretty decent serve for a club player.

You're in more control of the game when you serve. If your opponent has a decent serve, you're at his/her mercy when you receive.

Personally, my serve is decent, but I prefer to return.

Return for sure, I like to think it's my best shot and I get angry if I miss any

I used to like serving more but after my two shoulder surgeries (the last one was in december 2016) I can't serve that good anymore. That's why I have to rely on my return game. And I love to hit flat return winners.

Serving ... likely because serve is my best shot I win many free points down the T. It's powerful for my amateur level.
