judging by first festivals looks like we could have academy award winner Scarlett Johansson, in the last days also is literally exploded the buzz for Jennifer Lopez (as supporting actress) for Hustlers

For best actor in a leading role looks a race between Phoenix and Adam Driver, Joker just won the golden lion in Venice.

Yeah it was time
I hope Banderas gets critic mentions to keep the buzz alive He is so so great in Dolor y Gloria.

Also Marriage Story looks so good. Besides ScarJo and Driver, Legend Laura Dern looks good too in Supporting.

Re: Oscars 2020

Antonio Banderas is a "nothing special" actor.Overrated because he is a great person and well-known is USA
.Pain and Glory is far from the best Almodóvar movies.
In my opinion of course.
Rene will win easily the Oscar for Judy and watch out Jennifer Lopez because she can be nominate for the pole dancing movie

Re: Oscars 2020

I'm a big Renee fan so I'm thrilled to see the comeback being as strong as it is. But it's early still. They need to finesse this properly to maintain a stronghold on that statue.

Re: Oscars 2020

Brad Pitt best actor for Ad Astra is a serious candidate too.
The film itself is.
Also Almodóvar for Dolor y Gloria screenplay and direction would not be that odd.

Personally I would love mentions for Florence Pugh for Midsommar

As much as I would love, I don't see Moore happening this year.

Re: Oscars 2020

"Judy" comes out in the US on Friday, and it seems like the momentum is starting to really build up for Renee. Apparently, Harry Connick Jr, who starred in "New in Town" with Renee 10 year ago, is hosting an intimate screening in NY tonight. According to the review in the Chicago Tribune, there's no much in terms of a marketing budget for this film, but maybe the buzz around Renee's performance can help it get enough visibility to make some money.

I'm curious about how sustainable this buzz is for Renee. It's super early.
