I actually saw him perform live as the opening act for Shania Twain a couple years ago. He was really good and I agree would make a great ESC representative.

If it's in Amsterdam I'm so tempted to go. So easy for me to get there (from Birmingham) and very quickly.

So the 2010s in Eurovision are over. What are your faves from the last 10 years of our beloved contest?

My favorite winner: Ukraine 2016
Worst winner: Portugal 2017
Favorite runner-up: Italy 2019
Favorite 3rd place: Ukraine 2013
Favorite year: 2016 - the contest was really exciting with many great songs
Worst year: 2010 was dreadful

Re: ESC 2020 - The Netherlands

My main hope is that German officials finally understand, that authentic singers win this contest. Singers, who are doing THEIR music and not a 5th placed from "Voice of Germany" and certainly not 2 singers, where everybody sees, they would be the Top2 bitches in a club on a Friday night, thinking they are so superior to everybody else and acting this way and then singing a song, which was rejected by Switzerland of all countries. That would a a great progress for starters, never mind the finishing place.

We saw this last year, we saw this in Lena and we saw it in everybody, Stefan Raab backed (Guildo Horn 7th, himself 5th, Lena 1st, Max Mutzke 8th, Roman Lob 8th).

No, it's not that everybody hates us. It is, what you serve the ppl of EBU for dinner. They realize that it's fake.

Re: ESC 2020 - The Netherlands

Favourite winner: eh, Sweden '12

I can't do the rest because there were only 3 songs I actually liked enough to remember: Norway '13 and '19 and Bulgaria '16 and none of them were in the top 3, so...
Although I did like Russia '15, but that's mainly because I love Polina and not that the song itself was anything special (in fact, I actually don't remember it), but let's say it was my fave runner-up.

My favorite winner: Amor Pelos Dois (Closely followed by Euphoria)
Worst winner: That Ukraine song was trash but Nothing can beat Azerbaijan's win (I also still Don't get the love for satellite ?)
Favorite runner-up: Queen Dami I'm still not over that loss (But also hi to Calm After the Storm)
Favorite 3rd place: I guess Sergay in 2016 (by lack of better options)
Favorite year: 2016 - Because Petra Mede is a goddess
Worst year: Maybe 2011 with that Azerbaijani win ?

This can't last. This misery can't last. I must remember that and try to control myself. Nothing lasts really. Neither happiness nor despair. Not even life lasts very long. There'll come a time in the future when I shan't mind about this anymore, when I can look back and say quite peacefully and cheerfully how silly I was. No, no, I don't want that time to come ever. I want to remember every minute, always, always to the end of my days.

Re: ESC 2020 - The Netherlands

My favourite winner was definitely Euphoria.

The worst winners were 2011, 2016-2018 for me.

Loved 2011 ESC just because it was so nice to have it in Germany and it was a great show but the music that year was indeed really bad. Most of the other years I enjoyed though, maybe 2017 not that much.

Re: ESC 2020 - The Netherlands

I'm looking back to the scoreboards of previous years and Serbia actually finished in the top 10 in 2015? That result was seen as such an absolute debacle here and it destroyed all the Eurovision hype probably for ever that I was sure she placed outside the top 20.
