First of all, believing marriage is only valid between a man and a woman doesn't automatically make one bigoted.

Second, it if does then more than 70% of Trump supporters are committed bigots.

Third, one can hold bigoted opinions at one time and then genuinely change.

So no, it isn't actually fair or right. I originally agreed with the decision until I thought about how if a person said that their religion wouldn't let them do business with a racial group or disabled or other religious group, Gorsuch and Roberts and co. would not have let that happen! Shame on them! As for Sotomayor and Bader Ginsberg, my two Supreme Court Justice Goddesses keep doing the amazing job that they're supposed to do! Also, it wouldn't have been different regardless with Merrick Garland as a Justice (because it was a 7-2 vote), but just to remind everyone that Gorsuch literally has a job that he shouldn't have due to unfair Republican politicking.

Exactly what I think. If I make an official religious with rules that don't allow me to serve any white Trump supporters. Would this be allowed because of religious freedom? I think we know the answer

Re: Homophobia / LGBT Issues

I don't know why people seem to completely avoid the fact the Christian baker did not discriminate on the basis they were gay - it was noted and accepted by SCOTUS that he would have sold them any other cake. He refused to create or pre-make a gay wedding cake, which conflicted with his sincerely held religious beliefs as it was explained he also didn't sell cakes that celebrated Halloween or any adult themed cakes. This is also keeping in mind that at the time of service, Colorado did not recognise gay marriage. @Silent Bird is correct here - if they were refused service for something which at the time was not legal even after they were offered other products, they should have moved on to another bakery rather than attempt to put the baker out of business. The baker can easily choose who he serves just as much as I can tell other people to not go to that bakery because of his beliefs.

This decision isn't so much in favour of the baker as it is against the Colorado Civil Rights Commission who completely stuffed up their investigation. SCOTUS recognised the fact that Colorado commission erred in not providing a neutral decision maker in the initial commission given how they were tasked with investigating whether anti-discrimination laws were broken with regards to sexual orientation as well as religious freedom; one of the committee had openly compared the baker's religious beliefs to defences of the holocaust and slavery, which had in part proven the baker was not provided with a neutral commission as he was entitled and that any decision made by this commission had to be set aside and restarted.

The rest of your post is spot-on. That part is incorrect.
