Albanian is Indo-European language? It sounds very similar to others, yet the words are all completely different.

Isn't chalga supposed to be what turbo folk is in Serbia? I don't think that is it. I guess it would be more something like this:


Yes, Albanian is an Indo-European language, but it forms its own sub-branch and is not intelligible with others. It does share some grammatical features with neighbouring languages like Macedonian, Bulgarian and Romanian, known as the Balkan sprachbund.
It also contains tons of loanwords from Latin (although a lot of those have undergone significant phonetic changes and may not be readily recognizable) and Turkish.
