Statlines like these show how useless a stat break point conversions is. Venus still won that match handily. There were probably several times Sharapova got from break point down back to deuce, only to eventually be broken in that game. Who cares how many break points you waste in a game as long as you break?
I agree and have said similar things many times in the past.
If you go 30-40 in five consecutive service games, get broken in one of them and hold serve in the rest, you saved 4 break opportunities (points).
OTOH, if it's 0-40, deuce, Ad returner, deuce, Ad returner, break, the server saved nothing, as all his efforts to hold serve had been in vain. Another way to put it is that the returner had one shot to break serve in the set, and ultimately capitalized, as opposed to the first one who had a chance to do it in 5 games and managed only one.
Yet both show up in the stats as 1/5 BP conversion rate.

In the first round at Indian Wells this year versus Suarez Navarro, Pironkova had 1/15 I believe.

Caro Wozniacki
Alizé Cornet
Tsvetana Pironkova

Yep: http://www.tennislive.net/wta/match/...an-wells-2012/
That puts her on top among those who had at least 15 BPs

Funny Thing about Venus is 2007 she had to fight and save all those break points against Morigami and then turned around in hte next match and pressured Maria's serve so much and didn't even face a break point and averaged a 115mph 1st serve. Ridculous how she turned that tournament around.

Re: Whats the worst BP conversion you've ever seen?

Thanks!
Where is Doi's 3/19 against McHale last week?

In the most BP faced tables can you add how many were converted, and vice versa for the most BP converted ones?

Not one match, but Kvitova has been awful on breakpoint conversions against Sharapova since Wimbledon '11. A combined 5 of 30 in their three matches played this year.
