Kerber, Wozniacki, Kuznetsova seem like reasonable assumptions. I honestly don't see Venus, Serena or Maria ending it next year.

Re: So who's going to retire in 2020?

Naomi "British Sharapova" Broady. She would be mad not to retire next year.

Other candidates:
- Russian Sharapova
- Wozniacki
- Robson
- Kanepi
- Cibulkova
- Bouchard
- Strycova
- Petkovic
- Stosur

Re: So who's going to retire in 2020?

Okay here we go.....

Minella - previously announced
Rybarikova - still playing doubles
Mattek-Sands - from singles
Bellis
Jankovic
Golovin (whose reboot of a career never took off)
Permentier
Stosur (if there is a God)
Wozniak's - got that Grand Slam, hot husband and a lot of cash to be set of life)
Venus Williams - needs no explanation.

Question - does anyone know if the ITF or WTA puts out a list of those who have retired? It would be nice to know.

Let me add Suarez-Navarro, Bacinszky, Sharapova and Gale Falkenburg (lol). Possibly Vickery - that poor girl is constantly injured,

I wanna see Naomi play Sharapova before they both retire.. It needs to happen.. Preferably peak Naomi vs flailing Sharapova.

Probabaly not. Japanese are everlasting, just like her compatriot Toshihide Matsui <img src="https://www.tennisforum.com/images/smilies/notworthy.gif" border="0" alt="" title="NotWorthy" class="inlineimg" />

You said you want to be mother, will it happen soon?

I would not like to become mother at old age. This year I'm getting 31 y.o. and I would love to soon, I do not know if next year will be last, or 2021.
But I won't play much longer as I got the goal to be mother sooner than latter. It will come by itself, but once I'm, I'm not coming back to tennis.
wow thanks, I had no idea! I found it funny when she said "it will come by itself".... I mean I hope they wait til 2021 to have a baby!

Re: So who's going to retire in 2020?

I think Businesswoman like Venus Williams Or Maria Sharapova will not retire next year, they are in top 10💰 making, although they have not won anything, sponsors will not let them.

Re: So who's going to retire in 2020?

A look at the German Top 100 players and their age

31 yo Angie Kerber
31 yo Julia Görges
31 yo Laura Siegemund
32 yo Andrea Petkovic
32 yo Tatjana Maria

The next hopes outside of Top 100 are 24 yo Korpatsch, 25 yo Friedsam and 23 yo Lottner.

Barthel is 29 yo and Sabine Lisicki is 30 yo (and both seem past their peak) ...

So many German players are quite old and could retire soon

I think Kerber and Petkovic will retire in the next 2 years. Maybe Maria too.

Julia Görges said she will play a few more years because she loves Tennis

Quote:
„Ich möchte noch ein paar gute Jahre haben. Ich liebe diesen Sport immer noch mit ganzem Herzen“, sagt Görges.
lenas warriors and d_b_prince like this.

Serena: "We have great personalities like Jelena (Jankovic) on the tour."
Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."

Serena Williams Maria Sharapova Jelena Jankovic
A. Radwanska V. Zvonareva C. Wozniacki P. Kvitova
N. Petrova A. Chakvetadze A. Myskina L. Davenport M. Hingis
A. Kournikova T. Paszek K. Sprem J. Dokic I. Tulyaganova
Backstreet Boys NSYNC Britney Spears Shania Twain Bryan Adams forever
