I can imagine it could be experienced as belittling and very disrespectful to say the least. You can see the umpire reacting immediately, even before Parks really did. Disappointing from Sebov.
Seems as though Sebov was the one starting the fight. The umpire even admitted that Sebov was the aggressor. See how you'd like it if someone squeezed your hand.
It was a prettyquick handshake, so the squeezing must have been somewhere else. Maybe the stomachearea? Who knows.
The whole situation is a fail in every department, though.
1 girl squeezes the other, the other gets violent herself and the coach/father? immediately calls it a racist incident.
Quite surprised by this, have seen Sebov play many times and have never seen any type of antic from her on court - even the scream at the end caught me by surprise. They played just a few weeks ago as well, wonder if there was some ongoing drama there? Either way, I’m sure there is plenty more to this than what we get out of the clip but not acceptable from either player in my opinion.
idk , definitely weird her first outbreak is :she squeezed parks hand, parks goes over to confront her and sebov pushes her first. There has to be more backstory
There definitely has to be some backstory to this, because normally a would chalk up a hard squeeze to be something that a sore lose mentions. But the umpires reaction immediately signals that there is a lot more to this story.
It looked like more of a typical slight hand slap than a squeeze.
Kicking and punching the other player is a bit more vile than a hand squeeze.
Something had to be going on throughout the match as Sebov yells, Parks throws her racket and the chair is coming down before the hand shake.
The father/coach(?) running onto the court yelling for a long period is certainly strange in women's tennis, but he did do a very entertaining triple somersault.

Will the ITF issue penalties?
I misheard, the father/coach was not cursing but saying forfeit, but I thought he was saying f*ck it.
Parks looks like she's oozing attitude when going in for the handshake. You can see it in the way she's moving her head and shoulders when she's about to meet Sebov at the net.
