Re: Abigail Spears fails a dope Test and is Suspended
This “doper” word is really becoming something here.
Some of you just like to fight and use words to elicit furry and attention.
I would consider a “doper” someone intentionally using illegal performance enhancing drugs to get an advantage. That’s not the case here, whatsoever.
That wasn’t the case with a lot of these high profile cases.
I think Spears and Sharapova are innocent.
They made mistakes of course, but had no intention to dope or cheat.
-> so they are not dopers.
And anyway in tennis (at the best level) doping does not help much.
With doping you canīt suddenly get a strong serve like Serena/Barty/Osaka or a strong forehand/backhand. Tennis is so much about a good technique of the strokes. And these are the weapons. Also you canīt dope smart tactics or mental strength which are also needed in tennis.
Doping does not win you Grand Slam titles. A good technique does and is most important.
Doping only really helps a lot in other sports who are about races/time (running, swimming, biathlon etc.) and power (weight-lifting etc.). There doping should be severely punished.
