Can't remember a match where Aljona was that self-assured and consistent with zero lapses in form or concentration. Just fabulous

Of course, she could follow this up by make 97 unforced errors tomorrow

Last time when she reached 2 SFs in a row was in 2017. She won title in Seoul and reached SFs in Wuhan and Beijing

7 matches won in two weeks. That’s probably like 1/3 of all her winning matches all year lol

Re: Luxembourg QF: Ostapenko def. Lottner 6-1 6-1

The words "clinical" and "Ostapenko" don't seem to go together very often. But that's the best adjective I can come up with. Barely a letdown.

Lottner was nervous to start with and may have been hampered by a lower back problem, but she was not able to stay with Penko for any extended period of time. Still very valuable points this week for her, and she must take encouragement from this tournament.

Blinkova next, a whole different kettle of fish. However I hope the rock-paper-scissors streak continues (Korpatsch beats Gauff, Ostapenko beats Korpatsch, Gauff beats Ostapenko, Blinkova beats Gauff, Ostapenko beats Blinkova??)

Re: Luxembourg QF: Ostapenko def. Lottner 6-1 6-1

Jelena Fantastic display from her. Her game was just looking so good out there. However Toni put up no resistance and gave Jelena all time needed on her groundstrokes so I am not sure what to make of it. Anna will be an entirely different challenge tomorrow!
But still hitting more aces than DFs.

Toni She will always struggle against good returners and then not being 100% there was nothing she could really do. But she looked quite harmless out there. Hopefully she will take the positives and get well soon!

Rest in Peace Bally!

End of 2017 with Seoul W, Wuhan SF & Beijing SF. Yes, it's only Internationals right now but she could not even beat mugs like Ahn in miserable first 9 months of 2019.

Let's not overreact here because Lottner is very lite Pliskova with limited movement and other issues. Book-smart Blinkova will be real test tomorrow.

What an offensive comment for Lottner , who is actually talented player. (According to your dumb logic, she is /will be ,nothing because she is 23 lol )

Lottner had lower back problems,so... and her issue is mostly mental +serve-at times.
