It was disrespectful and sexist. There was no need to say that. Hopefully we will see a WTA statement about it soon condemning it.
A draft of the WTA statement:
"After reviewing the incident, in which we put microphones next to a conversation meant for motivation of a player and were stuck listening to one of the many ways, tasteless but still permissible, a coach might try to motivate a player, we've concluded that there is no value to the decade-long experiment in on-court coaching and apologize for this bastardization of the sport.
We are sorry it took us so long to see what everyone else has seen for so long: that on-court coaching is nearly never insightful for the fans, and rather shows players at their worst moments. As a form of apology, we have decided to improve our website."

Come on, just an innocent joke. Lighten up. The coaches shouldn't change the way they interact with their players just because there are microphones. You will take the good with the bad if you want to listen to the coaching or else end it.
