Sad. Just sad.

Caro was so helpless...she was 5-1 in the 1st set, hurt her knee and everything went downhill...

the way Hsieh paint the ball is amazing. Woz doesn't bad at all but Hsieh is too good.

Very impressive ball striking from Hsieh. One of those line painting days. When she is feeling the ball like this, a reactive player like Wozniacki who needs rhythm just gets pulled apart.

We have seen Hsieh do this to the best of the best.

Go Su Wei!!!

Like SERvivor said in the commentary thread, from 5-1 down in the first set she was just totally in charge for the rest of the match (outside of the unfocused tiebreak). Some really beautiful line painting and touch shots. Second win over Woz this year.

The bilingual interview seemed to be very popular. Keep going!

Great comeback. Su Wei's ballstrking just too good. Woz didn't look injured. She did call a medical timout at 5-4* I the first set uti seemed ratgi to reach Hsieh's momentum.

Exactly. I have only seen the second half of the match and Wozniacki was very well prepared but drawing Hsieh in the first round is tough, the Dane needs more matches to get rid of the little mistakes she makes for lack of practice/competition. Must be frustrating for her but she's ready to make a good showing for this Asian tour. Go Caroline.

Hsieh on the other hand does make very few mistakes (at least in the third set) and was impressive: moved fast, was accurate, and placing the ball anywhere she wanted, as if she had the court in a computer mind. At this level she's a top player, no doubt. It's the way she hits the ball high on both sides with a kick of the wrists and a precise position of the shaft to direct it left or right that makes her shots so effective. Some time that reminds me of Connors who could make shots like that. He played with a small racket headsize for a long time unlike his peers. I'm pretty sure Hsieh would play as good as she already does with a small racket headsize too.

Who cares of hypertrophic weapons when the player on the court moves like music?

Think she has to because there was some blood on her knee..there is a rule about that

Hsieh gave Caro a fake hope, then she started to play brilliant tennis.

Caro, take a rest, you are not happy. It looked like someone forced you to play today.

Looked like standard Caro to me. Just a competitor who worked fine to do her best. Physically, she's there and was hitting the ball very well. No, as a fan I can't complain, she shows up as expected and I'm happy to see her. Only missing are more matches to raise higher consistency. The hardest or trickiest part, maybe.

WTH happened here, Woz had two set points in the 1st leading 5-1 & serving 40-15 ... and it went to a TB that she squeaked out!

Wuhan is once again a disaster of a tournament, filled with WD's, retirements, and bad tennis. It needs to be cancelled or moved a week ahead and cancel one of the other China tournaments.
