ange was ripe vs maddy anyway if it wasn't for the injury, so no surprises here.
wd, pavs!

Great event for Pavs - a return to good form that has not hardly been in evidence at all so far in 2019.

Re: Osaka SF: Pavlyuchenkova DEFEATS Kerber 6/3 6/3

7:7 - a legendary rivalry, so many good matches between those two.

Can Pavs finally combine things together? AO semis in the making?

Off season and mentality will decide.

We can only hope for.

Pavs just won 4 sets today :O

Pavs just destroyed Kerber's serves at will today.

Re: Osaka SF: Pavlyuchenkova DEFEATS Kerber 6/3 6/3

Match was less onesided than the score suggests but Kerber couldn´t hold her lead in the 1st set and her serve was as bad as it´s been most of the year, Paulychenkova was very aggressive and focused but here serve was sometimes trashy too

I guess serve under pressure is so valuable these days

Henin, Kerber, Hingis, Plíšková, Federer, Thiem

Re: Osaka SF: Pavlyuchenkova DEFEATS Kerber 6/3 6/3

I'm so sad for Angie. She just can't keep a single ball in the court. I think at one point in the first set she hit 7 unforced errors in a row off the first ball in the rally.

So many balls into the bottom half of the net.

She looks really sad too. It's like she's absolutely resigned to playing this badly and she doesn't even hope to do better.

The off season is her only hope to get some confidence and touch I feel.

I'm not even going to address the thing that others might refer to as her "serve".

Pavs was decent, hit some nice shots here and there and was mentally tough.

Dokic&Kerber&Serena

Stosur - Venus - Hingis - Diyas - Jankovic - Niculescu - Barty - Sabalenka
Gavrilova - Wozniacki - Kvitova - Zvonareva - Osaka - CSN - Sevastova
Aga - Cibulkova - Lisicki - Bencic - Cornet - Halep - Mladenovic - Davenport - Ostapenko
Some level of love/fascination for Ivanovic, Giorgi, Azarenka, Sharapova, Makarova, Kuznetsova

Sumyk reminding Fat Pavl to finally eat a good diet and get some fitness around .

Kerber looks physically done, she's just not as fast as she used to be and serve gotten too weak at this point. Her game needs a lot of physical grinding. I think she's burned out and is over
