Yes.. But the European can no longer afford to host those tournaments. They are broke. And that's the problem. China has lots of money so lady Stacy started moving those tournaments there even if nobody is watching. She hopes people will stop watching badminton and sumo fights to follow tennis. Huge bet.

I miss all of them: Leipzig, Filderstadt, Zurich.

I also miss Chicago, Philadelphia and the WTA Champs being hosted in NYC @ MSG.

Those were the days.

I’ve never warmed to the Asian swing we have now but I am trying to..

I miss Oakland in the fall! Great memories, especially 1991 and 1994. Not to mention Jan 1984, but that was winter and like a completely different tennis world.

Who cares of hypertrophic weapons when the player on the court moves like music?

I miss it too. I only went 2 or 3 times but it was a good event and easy to get to.

I miss all of the autumn indoor touraments. They had pretty good crowds and the time zone was much better for me

Re: Do you miss the European Fall? Linz, Zurich (Swisscom)....

It is a real shame the swing has gone
There is no reason why they couldn’t bring it back post Aus Open
Move Dubai and Doha to the end of the year - needs some shuffling but doable
You could then have St P, Moscow, Linz, Lux, Budapest, Lyon ( if any could afford it, get an upgrade or perhaps bring in or back one of the retired events)

Re: Do you miss the European Fall? Linz, Zurich (Swisscom)....

I do miss them but also appreciate they weren't really viable. Zurich was totally dependent on the Swiss stars doing well. If they could replicate the year Patty won i'm sure it would have been a great success financially. I still remember the feeling of not really being able to comprehend that she beat Davenport in the final after the sh*t she'd been through/we'd been through as her fans. anyway i digress...

Oh I really miss those tournaments.

Indoor carpet often produced good quality matches!

Yes. Instead, we now have some weeks of boring events I don't give a damn about.
