Another Eugène thread ? Is she going to do a selfie tour of the Swiss mountains again? We need updates!

As far as her rankings goes, who cares because tournaments will keep offering her wildcards and appearance fees.

Even at her prime she struck me as a person who treats tennis as a job rather than a life-style. She won't have anything to do with this sport once she retires. But she can become a lingerie model at any time so she will earn plenty of endorsements if she wants to

Re: Bouchard is out of the Top 100

Honestly this is probably the best for her. She only really starts to pick up her game once she has to play qualifying again...and I'm not saying she's like slay worthy top 5 slam winner material anymore I'm just saying she actually is good enough to be a top 50 player but unfortunately for her it's a mixture of motivation + not working that hard + not having the confidence anymore to win and close out matches.

I mean, we've seen this time and again from her for a while now. She plays terribly, then she doesn't get to play at the tournaments she wants to, starts to slowly improve, then gets back to playing the tournaments she wants to, then goes back to playing terribly. It's the same cycle over and over again.

Re: Bouchard is out of the Top 100

I thought she had already been out of top 100 before. It's kinda sad though. I near her 'hack the ball' game had limitations and she has certainly technical faults but it's amazing how she was top 5 and is wandering the bottom rung of top 100, or now outside of it.

To do that she needs tennis. Genie as a tennis star doing bikini shots is one thing. But without it her name wont carry much weight. Thats why she wont officially retire

Genie was playing very well from Luxembourg to AO, top50 level at least. After that I don't know what happened. Probably she lost motivation to tennis again.

She was out of the top 100 early last year. And she had a minor resurgence at the end of last season and got back inside the top 90, and the media was hyping her back again after almost beating Goerges in Auckland in January. And she's proceeded to do nothing since and has slipped back out of the top 100 again. It's a repeating cycle. And it seems, at least with the same deadpan answers in interviews, that she has no conviction or motivation to get better. Her game is severely limited, but she won't change it or work on improving. There's losing and then there's failing. And it's looking like the latter with Genie more and more.

Is that damn slippery floor that prevented her to become a great tennis player. But at least she's killing it on instagram

The Sharapova curse is real. That was Genie's last great win.
