I'll go with Anisimova and Gauff. Andreescu is too predisposed to injuries at such a young age so I don't think she'll have a long career.

At least two, likely 3, maybe even more of these youngsters will eventually win at least 1 slam. But the player who I'm most confident will get there is definitely Gauff. Anisimova is probably a close second, but she has a lot more question marks over her than Gauff, which is why I didn't pick her first.

by the time poor Andreescu finally gets back on the tour, everyone will have entirely forgotten about her.

Her playing Miami after winning IW has to go down as one of the worst WTA decisions of the decade.

Re: Which young hope will manage to win at least 1 slam??

Yastremska is a brainless basher and it would be tragic if she won a GS. I'm not a fan of Ansimova's game either, there isn't much thought process and i'd be glad to see both of them paying their dues for a few years to figure out how they can get better.

Gauff still looks like a junior and she is 3 or 4 years away from being a contender. She got a very lucky draw to generate all that publicity.

Potapova i haven't seen and can't comment. So my pick is Swiatek.

Re: Which young hope will manage to win at least 1 slam??

I'll go with Andreescu based on what I saw at Indian Well and by the number of Top 10 she defeated this year. Her only problem is that she self destructs as she plays a lot. Her style is very demanding and she has a bit of weight to lose. But at an event with a day of rest between matches, she can be one of the best contenders if she peaks at the right time.

Most of them. Anisimova and Gauff, just a matter of time. Bianca if her body allows her too. Yastremska is like Ostapenko, so she could win one someday. And I think Iga will win Roland Garros, but she has to develop a lot first.

How does the one who has already been in a slam semifinal, won a title, beaten several top players, and had other nice runs on multiple surfaces have "more question marks" than someone who beat three grannies to get to a fourth round? Nothing against Gauff and she obviously handled the pressure very well, but that was one tournament whereas Anisimova has displayed her potential several times.
Ballbasher and Sharapovalov like this.

My number one: Victoria Azarenka

ATP: Novak Djoković

Crazy Frenchies: Gilles Simon Alizé Cornet
