Alison played wonderfully in set 2 and 3. Im so glad that shes able to bring her results outside of Wimbledon into this tournament.

And funnily enough, out of all 3 setters shes had, this one was probably the least tricky in the end.

She's become so much calmer in pressure moments and it's so refreshing to see. Beyond excited for Ali! She played so we'll after the first set. Fight your heart out in the QF

Now where are all those Ash Barty Trolls who said in one my Thread that

# 1) Barty will never face pressure
# 2) Barty will be a Top Player for a long time
# 3) Barty will stay No 1 for at least 20 weeks

Even someone like Ash isn't immune to pressure like Naomi wasn't immune to pressure as well.

Barty had a good draw week 1. This was going to be different. Riske beat Bertens right before Wimbledon and now Barty. She might give Serena a match

Riske was fantastic in last 2 sets...her DTL shots was so good...not a bad performance from Ash, Riske just played excellent tennis in last 2 sets. I doubt she can sustain this performance in next round though.

She was serving well in the beginning but when riske started returning the second serve better, barty started to miss a lot of first serves. The pressure got to her.

Riske was absolutely peaking today!

She was excellent against Bencic but today was another level!

Ash didn't serve very well at all in sets 2 and 3, and her game really suffered as she was always on the back foot after Alison kept going after Ash's second serves...

It is a big upset. No doubt about it.

Barty has been the favorite but still I wouldn't have put an awful lot of money on her winning the title.

Now Kvitova or Williams?

Well riske outplayed her. Riske didnt allow her to play her game. Almost all of riske shots were deep and hard.

Re: Wimbledon R4: Riske d. (1) Barty 3-6, 6-2, 6-3

24 winners to 6 errors in the last two sets from Riske

Barty wasn't at her best, but Riske played out of her damn mind after dropping the opener. It's unlikely she can sustain that for another three rounds, but that was a level worthy of the title. Easily the best performance of her career

As for Barty, she has a game style where she makes players beat her, but just doesn't have an answer when someone is peaking like today. I still think she'll be a clear No. 1 for the foreseeable future with her consistency and win more Slams, but it can lead to results like this too.
