Re: Sir Andrew Murray Begins Quest To Find New Mixed Doubles Partner For Wimbledon
Wimbledon mixed doubles is a much tougher sell because they play out a proper best-of-three match. None of the no-ad, Match Tie-break stuff. Plus it's a 48-draw and they won't be seeded, so potentially six matches in 9 or 10 days.
Is he still playing singles? Haven't heard from him in awhile...
Don't think he's made a formal announcement, but I'd be surprised if he entered singles on top of doubles and now potentially mixed.
I'm interested when he'll attempt a singles comeback. Pre-US Open? Post-US Open? Australia?
In the meantime, I hope he gets plenty of doubles and mixed. My guess is a singles player who is a good doubles player who decides to not play in the doubles draw. Garcia, or Venus, or Azarenka would be my guesses.
