Anisimova withdraws from Rosmalen; No LL announced

it looks like they are unsure about who will be the 3rd lucky loser to replace Amanda, who is unsurprisingly not feeling 100 percent after her long RG fortnight... it should be either Lottner or Kalinskaya to face Vikhlantseva in 1R tomorow but perhaps both have already left the site. Stollar is in the doubles draw so she is presumably still there.

Kalinskaya lost her dubs match with Kuzmova today so--unless she was in a hurry to leave--she would be a viable option along with Stollar.

It's already 9pm in Holland, so it's kind pf pathetic that they haven't figured this out yet despite having several hours worth of notification;it's looks a lot more like one of our Mexican tourneys than a Western European event. The WTA livescores panel--which is notoriously slow--has a generic 'LL' recognition of Anisimova's withdrawal, but the Libera Open official site STILL shows Amanda in the MD and on the OOP for tmrw....They've been rather amateurish since before the tourney even began

Odd that she showed up for a doubles match before bailing, but I guess I respect her for trying.

My number one: Victoria Azarenka

ATP: Novak Djoković

Crazy Frenchies: Gilles Simon Alizé Cornet

Amanda vs Nat Vik-seva was first scheduled on CC at 11am, but now Natalia vs LL on Court 1... I only use ATP/WTA Live app...

1st rounds are played on Monday and Tuesday. Her match was scheduled on Wednesday and she pulls out of singles after her doubles match Tuesday afternoon. The draw for Wednesday was already released. Of course the tournament needs a moment to find a LL and amend the schedule in short time.

She doesn't turn 18 until midway through the US Open, so quick question: does this count against her tournament entries for age eligibility restrictions?

By my count she's played 13 events since turning 17, and if this is #14, that would mean Wimbledon plus US Open plus just one hardcourt warmup.

Presumably someone in her camp has this figured out, but wouldn't it be epic if she were age eligibility restricted from playing her home slam?

Re: Anisimova withdraws from Rosmalen; No LL announced

It's now closing in on midnight in Romalen, and the Libéma Open finally posted something on their Twitter acct.:

We regret to inform our fans that RG semifinalist Amanda Anisimova has withdrawn from the event due to illness and will be replaced by.......... some earthly human female with two legs and a tennis racket. Fans are invited to play the Libéma Open's Lucky Loser Surprise. Any fans who correctly guess Vikhlyantseva's opponent--TBA as she is walking onto the court--will get into the drawing for a free photo-op session with both the ATP and WTA's eventual singles event winners, including autographed pictures. Enjoy, fans!!!

Lottner is based only about 2 hours from the tournament, so maybe she will be ready to take a U-Turn, if she's not in Mallorca already.

Re: Anisimova withdraws from Rosmalen; No LL announced

You wonder just a litttle bit what might have happened: Maybe Rosmalen was unable to find any players who wanted to fill that last LL spot and they'll just give Vikhlyantseva a bye. It would be pretty pathetic if they pulled 48-year-old Brenda Schultz-McCarthy out of retirement for a day...or let one of Rosmalen's investor's 13-year-old niece face the powerful young Russian

Any casual Dutch tennis fans will be surprised in a few hours when they find out that RG SF'ist Anisimova isn't playing because she's STILL on the OOP and in the MD on the Rosmalen website, and I imagine that they'll be opening the gates in about 2 hours. It's rather amazing that the Rosmalen site manager is a worse 'chaquetero' (apparently, it's "rukker" in Dutch) than the hairy-palmed fellow who runs the WTA site. It looks like he just sits in his grandparents' basement, jerking off at hot Instagram photos of Kiki Bertens...and maybe uploads something new to the site every 2 or 3 days

Then again, perhaps Rosmalen site manager is strictly an unpaid, volunteer job. Maybe the tournament chair gave it to his 7-year-old grandson as sort of a toy to play around with...just to keep a hyperactive boy busy with something. If THAT's the case, then keep up the good work, young fella; you'll get the hang of it one of these years

Re: Anisimova withdraws from Rosmalen; No LL announced

Premier Mandatory also but you can only add 4 tournaments (maximum of 2 slam) @WilliamsOhanian . So as a 17 years old it is 16 + 4

Yes, it counts as an event played, since she played doubles.

She has four merited increases to be used in premier mandatory and grand slam tournaments, where she has earned her way into the main draw or qualifying via a direct acceptance.

Vikhlyantseva on one of her bad days is capable of losing either of those matches.
