Re: Rome QF: M.Sakkari d. K.Mladenovic 57 63 60

Lovely result. Sakkari played beautiful in the last 2 sets. She should have won in straights tbh. Mladenovic led by a set and a break, but then won only 1 of the last 12 games At least she won’t be hungry playing this late after eating that delicious bagel

Best thing about Mladenovic today is her multilingual OCCs with Sascha

5 4/4 14 7/9 1 36 21

14 4/4 32 9/9 5 72 235

Sorry, but what was with the commentator and all the (not very relevant) Game of Thrones references?
He's so cringe.

Time to learn greece for Kiki and time to tell her coach to stop putting extra pressure on her with his useless interviews.

I dont understand how this woman can throw her big tournament in the trash in 20 minutes. She was 75 33 and loses 9 consecutive games and so the match. I would like a psychologist, psychiatrist or other scientist to explain this to me.

Kiki had nothing left in the tank after the middle of the second set, while Sakkari was just on fire, especially in the last set, she was playing with the lines!
Kiki nice tournament, 5 wins in a row against good players
Nice hug at the net between the 2 friends

There is no one left in the draw that played Qualifiers. Kiki is exhausted.
She's played lots of matches this week. And rain induced double-duty didn't help. Some players got bageled in the Qualifying rounds.
She is playing good tennis these days.

This was a good match. Sakkari well done! Sakkari secures a seeding at RG! A lot of girls will be happy about that.

Whoever draws Mladenovic will be in for a tough match. At the end of the first set she was pretty much unplayable as well.

Cmon Sakkari! Send Pliskova home! Love her fight and smile. It's so nice to watch her play.

Re: Rome QF: M.Sakkari d. K.Mladenovic 57 63 60

I think Kiki just could not find a way to mess with Sakkari's rhythm and she steamrolled her - in the end Sakkari was serving aces at all the perfect times and not just painting the lines, she was painting the outside edge of the lines.

And Mladenovic eventually got rattled, especially as she was momentarily just missing all the lines herself it was over in a flash.

Still, Kiki is playing much better than just a few months ago. A lot of the slam success seems to be about the correctly timed peaking, right? I will make a fearless prediction that *a* Kiki will be playing in the RG final...

Repeat of the 2017 clay season.Even at her best,Mladenovic will lose to the first in-form player moving better than her on clay. Not a lot Bajin can do on that count.

But Sakkari was formidable out there, once she gets over her mental barriers and swings her racquet freely, she's just too dangerous on this surface.

Sakkari also played qualies LOL.

Bajesus hype train put on pause for another week.
