Re: WTA Launches First Global Marketing Campaign In Four Years: 'It Takes'
Only one word came to my mind after seeing the basics of this campaign: CHEAP!
1) It doesn't send a strong message at all. They should have stuck with a single and more powerful line, like "It takes courage - WTA", instead of using buch of randomly positioned buzzwords next to the players' portraits.
2) It remains unclear whom they have targeted with this campaign, nor who the main faces of it are. There are just too many players. They should've chosen, for example, 20 most recognisable faces and built the campaign around them.
3) Since they have decided to use black-and-white combination (which indeed matches with lilac logo) they should've used rawer pics instead of the photoshopped ones - to make players look more humane and accessable. Instead, they prestented them as top model divas (well, not all of them, but most).
All in all, this campaign is just a waste of their money and our time.
