At least some of the Australian and USA girls have taken advantage of their undeserved privileges The federation really needs to have a big look at their pathways.
Look at the French team that won the World Cup soccer. It's majority Black.
To get decent WTA top players, French Federation has to recruit in their Black neighborhoods.

BS.

She said herself she was raised in English and that English was talked at home. She lived in an English speaking neighbourhood of Montreal and her parents might be from Québec and have French names, they were fans of Florida and England and raised their children in English.

She doesn't speak French like a native speaker at all.

Not that it actually matters in this discussion anyway. She never deserved a WC for RG anyway.

Don't have any idea why being French speaking should have anything to do with the WC process By that logic a lot of Swiss and Belgian players should be contenders for WCs, much more so than Genie Bouchard

Bouchard's family is French Canadian but the four siblings have English as their first language. She once admitted that she learned French at her school (!) in Montreal. Her sister that had a creepy stalker on IG had to speak to the media in English after her testimony because her French isn't good enough.

Their mother make sure to erase anything French Canadian from her kids.

All 4 slams should have their WCs reduced to 4 for their own countryman and limit the ranking and/or age it can be used on. They are not charities and should be independent of country influences cause they are slams. It’s not like they need these fellows to keep attendance afloat.

Same goes for doubles and mixed. It’s pathetic mixed have 7-8 wild cards for a 32 player draw. So many scrubs win it cause not enough singles or doubles care about it these days. The worse thing is they are considered Slam champions.

These Aussie, Brits, French and Americans have so many extra chances to climb compare to others yet they still perform like shit compare to the likes of Czechs, Germans and Russian.

So what happens when a friend or partner holds a different opinion against your favorite?

All junior Slam champions should get a MD WC like the tradition Wimbledon has (always?) honored IIRC. The new ITF Tour was created to get rid of players like Lim and Hesse. It doesn't make sense to still give them MD WCs at their age given their limits.

The 7-8 wild cards for the mixed doubles draw are indeed a massive joke.

That is not the only issue with consequences for the hosting country too. If you put a WC on Centre Court in a match against opponent that is way out of their league, you publicly embarrass them in front of their whole nation. In many cases, the differences in level are so wide that there is not much they are even learning from that defeat.

I am sure the top tier does not mind the current system cause they get an easy pass for the next level. But it does rob the tiers below of their opportunity to break through.

Re: The Annual Horrible French Roland Garros WCs Thread!

The system is perfectly fine as it is, the 4 Slams and their countries deserve something for all the efforts and money they put into the sport. Public money from taxes is used to build the new Roland Garros, it's only fair that some French players get a chance to learn or to get a free check.

Seems like you're pressed Genie speaks better French than you do.

They should be learning in the process of winning the ITFs in Clermont Ferrand or Denain before being granted the opportunity to get a gigantic free check while learning how to lose in round 1 of a Grand Slam.

At least I currently play better tennis than she does.

If native tongue had anything to do with GS WC chances, Genie would be three times better off to have English as her mother tongue.

But it doesn't.

Of course do not trust a French guy and then a French Canadian to explain her reality to you.

They are 100% right.
