Miami R3: Andreescu def. [8] Kerber 6-4 4-6 6-1

Bianca in total control up 6-4, 4-1 then had her usual dip losing 5 straight games before dominating set 3. She's just better than Kerber

Her MTO in the first set was NOT tactical (she had the momentum at that point ffs).... the bathroom break after the second set sure was though

"You're the biggest drama Queen ever" 31 year old Kerber says as she handslaps 18 year old Andreescu

Bianca definitely ruined Kerber's life.

That handshake from Kerber at the end tho

Kerber probably pissed at all the medical time outs from Andreescu. And the fact she got beaten back to back in two weeks.

Folks, the maple leaf is flying very high these days thanks to Battling Bianca.

Even with a cranky service arm, this 18-year old has shaped up in rapid fashion to be a genuine phenom.

She's on a ten-match winning streak now with two of those ten wins taking down three-time Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber (it's early days yet for their encounters but so far Andreescu has been kryptonite to Kerber).

Can't wait to see how far she goes in this tourney.

O, Canada indeed!

Andreescu has Henin, Mauremso like point construction.

Future #1 player for sure, It seems like her game will translate well to clay, but im not sure yet.

Whoever is her coach is a genius.

The far better player and person won. Kerber's a bitter sore loser. Keep slaying her Bianca. Retire all these over 30 mugs

Re: Miami R3 : Bianca Andreescu d. Angelique Kerber 6-4, 4-6, 6-1

Angie at the net... gurl, that was not good. Giving a handslap to a player who beat you fair and square, and then calling her "the biggest drama queen ever" was... quite unclassy.

Especially since I don't remember Bianca doing anything wrong besides taking a MTO at 4-1 up in the 3rd - it may have been strategic yes but I don't think it warranted "biggest drama queen ever".

Bianca was the better player throughout anyway, just lost her way a bit in the 2nd set. She was more aggressive, and really played with a lot of court smarts and tactics. Her point construction is just amazing, better than 80% of the WTA tour tbh. 10 match winning streak and counting and backing up that IW title with a Miami R4. Not too shabby.

Angie was ok-ish but way too passive in parts. At least she didn't give up when she went down a break in the 2nd though, which we have seen quite common over the last few tournaments from her.

Re: Miami R3: Andreescu def. [8] Kerber 6-4 4-6 6-1

Back to back weeks, back to back wins over Kerber. Andreescu is really impressing me with her game, and if she keeps it up, I could see myself following her in the future. A lot of players should take note, because her game seems more complete at 18, than the game of most that are her age or even older. She seems a lot more composed and has more self belief. I like that in her! If her game and fitness continues to improve, she's going to have a lot of great success.

That handshake from Kerber was not a very happy one at all!

Glad to see the best player win. This would have been a sad night had Andreescu gifted the match to Kerber. 2nd set should have gone like that 3r set. 6-4 6-1
