Anyways, back on topic. I'll stick to the most effective way of picking a winner on the WTA (random number generator ). Number is 5, so Pliskova.
I'm going with #9, seeds 9-32. Safest bet by far

I mean purely mathematically speaking it's always going to be the safest bet picking 9-32 because you have a lot more chances. Of course you have higher highs with 1-8, but 9-32 is just, you know, MORE . It's like playing the roulette in a casino, you're going to make a lot more money picking the one number, but if you want to stay at the table longer it's always way safer to go for red or black.

Not really. Osaka last year wasn't at 9-32. She wasn't seeded and she was #40+

Osaka was unseeded last year. I assume she was the first unseeded player ever to win Indian Wells or Key Biscayne.

Are they playing any matches in IW tomorrow or not? Where the freck is the OOP?

Clijsters was unseeded and won both back to back.

Based on that line of thinking I think it should be 2020 that she wins, this year it's "only" getting to the final Honestly at this point I'd be more than okay with just the final, doesn't really matter if she wins or not.

I've decided she's jumping ahead to the trophy this year because she desperately needs some momentum and a ranking boost!! Plus since she recently said she gets so mad with the runner up plates that she leaves them in the locker room (even if it's a major), I don't think she would deal well with losing another final lol.

She needs easy first rounds to conserve energy, thing is Azarenka doesn't exactly strike me as an easy first round, even considering she hasn't been her usual self lately (and by lately I mean years). But who knows, definitely looking forward to that matchup, absolutely THE match of R2.

There were definite signs of improvement from Azarenka in Acapulco, certainly in her first two matches anyway. Then she got her yips back on her FH. Will be interesting to see what version of Vika shows up. I don't see anything else than a straight sets win for Serena regardless, but stranger things have happened...

It's not like Serena's draw gets any easier from there though
