The press:a petition!

Shoudn't we make a petition and ask the press not to bother Kim anymore?

L'important, c'est la rose...

I agree, a petition would be like water off a duck's back to the press. I think it would be better to let this die a natural death now, not give it life saving drugs by submitting a petition later on.

Patiently waiting to join the silver surfers

Hi welcome Justme btw!

I do understand your emotions (you all I mean), but I like to join the ones who think it's not a good idea at all, though. Certainly not in the form of a petition.
Not to discourage you or anything, but such a thing would do just nil re the attitude of the press. You can't change them by such a petition. They will keep on writing what they like.

In this case an important, even capital factor, that hasn't been mentioned yet imo, is that Lei Clijsters had announced a media boycott re a number of the Belgian press some months ago... so it's sort of pay-back time too, see. It's all complicated.

However, if you feel like it, why not write a letter to an editor then?
There were already a number of letters in today's Het Belang van Limburg, btw. They weren't yelling at Kim either, at least the ones I have seen. Maybe you can get your view in the press in this way then.

I understand how you feel completely.
While I was over in Melbourne the press really annoyed me how they were always in your face & that was just one weekend.
I feel the greatest sympathy for any sports/music star etc who has to deal with that 24/7.
I can only imagine how annoying it must be.
I was very angry when I opened the paper yesterday & saw a big article slagging Kim! I felt like shooting the nearest press person (thank god I didn't ).
I wish sincerly the media would leave Kim alone, especially during her holidays, but I know what the media is like.
Hopefully this will blow over quickly. I wish I could send Kim my support, but I guess the best thing I can do as her fan is ignore it & hopefully it will be over sooner that way.
Afterall, as Kim's fan I don't pay much attention to what the media says. I'm educated enough to make my own decisions

We will miss you Kim!.

Best of Luck in 2007 to: Kim & Bryan, Lleyton, Alicia, Todd, Sam, Chris, Casey, Wayne, Kirsten & all the other Aussies & injured players.

THats' how the media-system works , guys!

YOu can't ask them to "glorify" someone when he/she is right or do something exceptionnal, and then to leave him/her alone when he/she is acting badly. It has to work both ways!! I can't see anyhing work with that, it actually has a name : democracy! The only kind of newspapers where someone is continuously hailed, are the ones form dicature-states talkin' about the "president" !!!!

IF u don't like newspapers talkin trash about kim, then ask them not to talk about kim AT ALL, not only when she's criticizable.

I mean, kim sure has used the media when she needed them, she has to accept that sometimes ( and it is the first time in 4 years ) they will get down on her.

Yeah, but there's also the WAY of saying things.... And also some medias really used Kim and this story to show how much they didn't like Lei! But Lei isn't Kim and Kim isn't Lei

I think there're good journalists, but some of them are just good to write for "Metro"

The articles here pretty much said that there were people in Belgium who were pissed off with Kim for not playing at the Olympics, then finished the article with a quote from Kim saying that when she signed to Fila, they were the only company who wanted her, so she would not advertise for another company out of loyalty to Fila

you're right, and we know that too, I think, but the newspapers acted as if a war broke out or something. It was on the front page for two days! It was one of the headlines in the news...oooh...come on!
