Seat Open Luxembourg 2003

Kim is the #1 seed (of course) here. She is not playing doubles (a smart move if she's feeling tired).

Here's her quarter of the draw:

(1) Kim Clijsters (BEL) vs BYE
Virginia Ruano Pascual (ESP) vs Claudine Schaul (LUX)
Flavia Panetta (ITA) vs Laura Granville (USA)
Emilie Loit (FRA) vs (8) Maria Sanchez Lorenzo (ESP)

Elke opens against (4) Tamarine Tanasugarn.

Good luck, girls!

I thought Kim was supposed to play doubles wiht Elke

Nice quarter of the draw to get her into the tournament, I was so hoping she didn't draw a sharpova qf and she didn't

I guess Kim dropped the doubles as Elke is paired with Osterloh according to tenniscorner.net I think this is smart as Kim was tired this week. Hopefully this will make it easier for her to grab her 8th title of the year and increase her lead over Justine in next week's rankings Winning will also draw Kim closer to Justine in the Race, and hopefully she can end the year at #1 by winning the Championships!!

Any news on when she will start playing?? She will have at least 3 days rest (Sunday-Tuesday), and possibly more. Since she isn't playing doubles, I think she should be in great condition to win this

She then gets a week off before the Championships!
