that's not her style! she 's just taking a break which I find a really good decision.
There are no better arms and shoulder than lleyton's right now ... he understands what it takes.
I am sure she 'll be back!

No, but a break will do her good. With a bit of distance, the disappointment of losing the final will give way to realisation that she actually had a really great tournament and year. However, she will hopefully come back hungry and with some strategies for those nerves.

Where is all this coming from?

Prayed through the nights
felt so alone
suffered from alienation
carried the weight on my own
Had to be strong
so I believed
and now I know I've succeeded
in finding the place I conceived

From her latest diary entry. She said she's taking a vacation going to Australia..and that she might skip Leipzig.

For the record I don't think she's gonna quit She just needs some time away for a bit..I also think it will do her good.

Kim's break

Just a reflection:

It would appear that Kim's sole reward for reaching Number 1 by playing consistently and winning a lot of tournaments is to be criticised and hounded by tennis pundits, the media and a lot of so called tennis fans, to the extent that she feels there is something wrong with her and feels the need to drop out of the season early and take refuge in Aussie for a while.

What a fucking sad and nasty little world we live in.

Well, indeed.
Add some other players to that too, for good measure.

She can do with some rest though! She so deserves it.
It's a good things she is familiar with the media since being a child (as the child of) so I'm sure that she can put things in perspective when it comes to the media and dealing with jealous people (being with lleyton for so long, she had her share of neg. media re him too).

However, for everyone comes a point that you get sick of the one hundred and one time the same remark, question, ...of people keeping on belittling you and so on.

Hence our booklet too. It's not much, but something positive within all the shit she gets over her.

Lei Clijsters Thinks his daughter is gonna play another year and a half, and then she will stop.

Kim has said she loves tennis a lot and when she isn't playing, she misses it and wants to get back quick. That doesn't sound like someone who will quit anytime soon...

If Kim does decide to skip Leipzig, it shouldn't hurt her in any form. Her SF result from last year isn't counting toward her ranking, and the extra rest might be good for her

What diary entry was this, by the way? I just went to her official site, and the most recent entry I saw was the one on her match with Granville.

Prayed through the nights
felt so alone
suffered from alienation
carried the weight on my own
Had to be strong
so I believed
and now I know I've succeeded
in finding the place I conceived

Well, frankly, I always take that with a pinch of salt...I have great respect for Lei, not to take anything away of him in any way, but of all he's been saying the past years Kim should be stopping by now though, and if I'm correct is quite married and has still some four months left to have a baby. If I may be a bit ironic
We'll see, I say. No need to be sad and nervous already.

She won't quit - but she does sound very fed up and upset at the criticism. Didn't understand the diary entry very well as it's only in French but she sounds like she's much in need of a holiday. Hopefully a few weeks in Australia with LH and things will seem much better! When is Leipzig?

I think she'll be okay - but can understand why she's so fed up - all that hard work and now she gets nothing but criticism.
