No exhibition match Kim-Juju this year

FYI

According to info from Flemish public TV VRT, there won't be a third edition of the exhibition match. Instead there would be seperate exhibition matches with Kim and Juju each playing another top player...

Oh!!

BTW, if Belgium reaches the final of the Fed Cup, they won't be any exhibitions I think

Excuse my ignorance, but why would they decide that?
I was under the impression that it was a very successful and well organised event.Plus a great opportunity for the belgians to see both of them, at once.

I have no clue at all. It was such a commercial success that I'm almost thinking it must be either Kim or Justine not wanting this anymore, dunno, just a wild guess

*cough* Maybe Justine is of the opinion that she lost a few times too many to Kim and doesn't want another trashing? (sorry, just joking)

Yes,it does sound logical.(Kim and/or Justine not wanting this anymore,I mean ).I didn't think of that scenario.

But if they are willing to participate in other exhibition matches,I see no reason for not wanting to play each other.

hmmm...maybe the organisers are targeting a bigger commercial success by organising 2 events instead of 1.(and i don't think that they can commit both Kim and Justine twice).Just a guess.

I hope we can find out the real reasons.

I don't think it has anything to do with one of the girls: last year they also announced they would let Kim and justine play against some other topplayer, instead of eachother. But for some reason they just let them play eachother anyway.

I think it wouldn't be 2 different events, but just 2 matches on one evening. Just Justine vs Player X and Kim vs Player Y (at least that's what I thought)
And actually, I would like that formula better, there would be more tension in the match and the crowd will have a clear favourite to root for during the matches! (I'm one of those who just can't choose between Kim/Justine when they play eachother...)

..hmm i wasn't aware of that.It was anounced by the same source?

Well, in any case, your "version" makes complete sense!

They get to keep all the advantages of the event as it was, plus they both have a chance of winning!...and that, imo, would be a strong reason to change the formula.

Now i wonder who the players X and Y could/should be ..

Thanks BelgianGirl!
