Australian Open 2011

It's almost here!

Sydney first. Hope she get's a few good matches under her belt.

Then AO 2011. Kim will be doing her utmost best to wipe off that lost to Nadia.
She is a big favourite, if not the favourite to win. I would very much love for her to win AO.

Looking forward to it

Re: Australian Open 2011

She is always favoriy=te in australia, everybody loves her, since she was dating hewitt,so i think she feels like a little responsible in melbourne, that's why she was so frustrated laste year, she is so winig it,i predict last four will be kim, venus, sharapova and ana ivanovic.also azarenka will be somewhere her now that serena is not here

So... looks like Kim has drawn SAFINA in the first round...
Interesting at the very least...

Re: Australian Open 2011

Just heard on the news Kim is playing Safina in the first round of the Australian Open. I know Safina has been struggling a lot recently, but you never want to see that for your first round. Damn. If Kim plays well right off the bat she should win though; she's the better player.

Re: Australian Open 2011

I really don't like this draw. Opening against Safina completely blows. At least we're guaranteed it's a night match Ivanovic in 4th and probably Kleybanova in QF. Sucks sucks sucks.
Let's hope she can do it

Swiss champs.

Re: Australian Open 2011

Tough, but with Safina in horrible form Kim should thrash her. However, she's likely to come out firing playing a good game, because she really has nothing to lose.

Re: Australian Open 2011

Yes, Kim does not have an easy draw. But it could of been worse, at least she didn't draw Henin or Sharapova as a possible 4th Round opponent.

Kim Clijsters!

"I didn't play my best tennis, not even close, but I still felt like I could win out there and as long as I have that feeling, as long as it doesn't get worse I'll fight until I'm done"

Your opponent is not the person on the other side of the net, or the team on the other end of the field, or even the bar you must high-jump. Your opponent is yourself - your negative internal waves, your level of determination.

Re: Australian Open 2011

Well, I think it's not an easy draw, but Henin and Sharapova are in the other half...
Safina in 1R, Ivanovic/Petrova in 4R, Kleybanova/Jankovic in QF is not that bad... and after that... well the final matches are just tough...

After Sydney, do you guys think she can pull it off?
