Arrow Down Memory Lane: Relive USopen 2005 nerveracking moments.

I just thought it would be nice to read again some moments here during the nerve killing matches of USOpen 2005 (posts copied from livescore thread, don't be scared if some of you saw their post count increased today ).
Starting with a post from the queen of wit before the QF against Venus...
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, I'm going to swear a lot in this post now .

If Kim wants to bloody well win a grand slam, she's got to knuckle down, play her best tennis (which IS good enough) and just say to herself:

"Fuck the lot of you, whoever you are, I want to win this sodding grand slam more than I fear winning it, I've had it up to the eyeballs of waiting, so I'm going to whoop all of your sorry arses from here to Saturday night".

Does it need to be any more complicated than that? I think not .........

*fifi slightly, but not very, ashamed about the welsh vernacular*

Patiently waiting to join the silver surfers

Guys it's time everyone says the prayer auntie fifi wrote us!

"CCLers get out those prayer mats please!

And get yourselves down on your knees.

Clasp your hands together in an attitude of prayer

So we can help Kimmie of the beautiful hair

Oh hear us Awesome Kimmy please

In CCL we’re on our knees

To pray for you at the US Open

Because we cant rely on hoping!

We’re grovelling low down on the floor

Now that we’ve seen your shitty draw

Why did they put you in that quarter

Will you be the lamb who’s off to the slaughter?

So here’s our little Kimmy prayer

If we all say it we’ll get you there

To that elusive first grand slam

And after that we don’t give a damn

So hands together, let us pray

And with one big CCL voice say:"

"Our Kimmie who art in retirement mode all of a sudden

Hallowed, straightened and possibly highlighted is thy hair

Even more hallowed by some is thy wiggling bum

Kimmy, your time has come

To wiggle that bum like crazy and get the job done

In Flushing Meadow, as it is heaven

Give us this fortnight our grand slam bread

And forgive us our desperation

As we forgive you for retiring in 2007 (or possibly Antwerp 2008)

And lead us not into frustration

But deliver us a bloody grand slam, just once, please!!

For thine is the American hardcourt season, the power and the double prize money

So the beers are on you when you win

Ah men! (yes they are mostly a pain in the arse, but we can’t live without them and if we're honest we wouldn't want to either)"

Amen!

Connaissons notre force, les femmes
Découvrons-nous des milliers !

So coveraged started as Kim was warming up, pfiou...
Then I obviously was following Kim until at 6-1, 3-0 I fell asleep and got up about 30 min later when kim was over and done with!
Dancing Queen - I switched on telly last night thinking it was about to start - and they'd played half an hour already. The score was 6-1 2-0 (just about to be 3-0). Between me switching on late and you going to sleep I think we saw the whole match LOL. BTW those last games I saw and you missed Kim was awesome. I think she only lost 2 points the whole time I was watching. I'm really hoping she beats Venus now.

Well, perhaps it's better than 1 AM - this way I'll just try to get an early night, and get up around 3. Otherwise I'd have to stay up. And I already know, whatever the result, that I will have difficulty sleeping again afterwards...too much stress & nerves, topped with either joy (hopefully) or frustration
