this may well be your final australian open. not the best way to go out, but i'm sure you did not have your best game out there today. we all know on hard courts you would've given maria a fight.
truth is you were never my favorite player. but throughout the years you have won me over with your personality, sportsmanship, graciousness, class, and oh that wicked
those crosscourt winners are a beauty to behold and stays in my mind long after the match is over.
i remember first seeing you in the 2001 FO final against capriati. i am a die- hard capriati fan but i must say i was so impressed with your play and your grit and perseverence, at such a young age. you were fearless and just gave it all you had.
when you won USO 2005 i has so happy for you. finally one of the most talented players on tour has one a major. i was over the moon. you so deserved it and then some.
i am very very sad to see you retire at the end of this year. but you know what is best for you kim, and i wish you all the happiness and best wishes in everything you do. the tennis world and us fans will miss you sorely, when one of the most talented, warmest, and loved players retire at the end of 2007.
much love to you and, once again, thank you for the tennis!
