Re: 2007 Aussie Open: News, articles, etc!

i find it a pretty do-able draw.

1st round: bardina --the girl's in the hobart final, but i dont see her at the level where we need to be worried about a loss

2nd round: morigami/pironkova -- ok

3rd round: bondarenko(29th) -- hasnt done anything since winning luxembourg

4th round: hantuchova (15th) -- H2H 8-0 (or is it 9-0? )

qtrs: hingis (6th) -- kim was the one who ended martina's run at 2 GS last year plus martina isnt even in the form she wasthen . alternatively, we could be afraid of li na (19th). but let martina deal with her first, moreover li blows hot and cold every tournament

semis: sharapova (1st) -- i didnt really mind which half kim got into plus, kim's win over kim in HK, though an exho (excuse used by sharapova fans), should give kim confidence against her

Re: 2007 Aussie Open: News, articles, etc!

Looks very doable to me too, although I'm not the one who has to do it

Let's keep our fingers crossed for no stray dogs having suddenly amazing puppy tennis powers and we should be in the clear till at least the semis. Then I'll start to worry a bit more.

I think Kim can win! I'm rooting for her, for sure! She deserves at least one more slam. I'll be looking forward to her match against Hingis and Sharapova.

Re: 2007 Aussie Open: News, articles, etc!

yeah this draw is pretty good

I'm so excited it's nearly AO!!!! Let's go kim!

Kim Clijsters!

"I didn't play my best tennis, not even close, but I still felt like I could win out there and as long as I have that feeling, as long as it doesn't get worse I'll fight until I'm done"

Your opponent is not the person on the other side of the net, or the team on the other end of the field, or even the bar you must high-jump. Your opponent is yourself - your negative internal waves, your level of determination.

there's no standard rule about which half starts first, so we'll just have to wait till the monday OOP comes out

but good luck with getting to watch kim!

19. In the period from January to April 2006 Dr. Skalny sent very detailed messages to Ms Sharapova [...]: “Mildronate 1-2 X 10, repeat in 2 wks (before training or competition)”; “1 hr before competition, 2 pills of Mildronate”; “During games of special importance, you can increase your Mildronate dose to 3-4 pills (1 hr before the match). However, it is necessary to consult me on all these matters (please call)”; “30 minutes prior to a training session: Mildronat – 1 Capsule. 30-45 minutes prior to a tournament Mildronat 2 capsules”.

Her legs felt very tired after the match. She hopes for a Tuesday start, wants to rest a lot in the upcoming days, won’t train too much, just run and stretch a little bit to recover.

I have read that Bardina also complained that she’s tired, so that’s not exactly bad news for Kim. Three of the girls who played in a final on Friday (Kim,Chakvetadze and Bardina) are in the same half of the draw, so maybe that half is going to get the Tuesday start.
