Not that I want to jinx anything or not, but I thought it was time to think a bit about tennis for Kim again. I won't go into the discussion about whether she's coming back too early or not. I try to trust her that if she comes back then, than it means she'll be fine and riskless.

According to this article she might come back one week earlier but I haven't read anything about that in her website.
Clijsters hopes to make early return in Linz

The Associated Press

Published: October 4, 2006

BRUSSELS, Belgium Kim Clijsters hopes to make an early return to the WTA Tour later this month because her injured wrist is healing faster than expected.

The fifth-ranked Belgian, who has been wearing a wrist brace for a month, initially planned to return at the Oct. 30-Nov. 5 Gaz de France tournament in her home city of Hasselt.

Now Clijsters may play at the Generali Ladies Linz event in Austria a week earlier.

"We will have to wait and see how my first ball contact goes," she said Wednesday on her Web site.

Clijsters expects to start hitting the ball again in 10 days.

Clijsters got injured at the hard-court tournament in Montreal in mid-August when she fell on her surgically repaired wrist.

She was unable to defend her title at the U.S. Open and also missed the final of the Fed Cup, which Belgium lost to Italy.

Clijsters missed most of the 2004 season with the wrist injury. She's dealt with assorted ankle, knee and back problems, too, and points to her health problems as a reason that she plans to retire in 2007, even though she's only 23.

it would be great 2 see her playin a week earlier b4 hasselt gaining some valuable matchplay. but i also don't want her 2 take 2 many risks with her injury & end up damaging even more which could end her career. but then again we must trust her. be good 2 see her play in linz, but i doubt it.

Here's something i found on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Cli...#Retirement.3F bout kim here if any1's interested

Recently, Clijsters has given indications that she will retire from tennis soon. "I think I will stop at the end of 2007. My body is already giving me a lot of problems," Clijsters said, mirroring a current trend in men's and women's tennis of prevailing injuries. Clijsters herself has had a career marred by several injuries including a career-threatening wrist injury.

Clijsters has been offered the directorship of the Gaz de France Stars tournament in Hasselt from 2009.

Has any1 heard of this interesting piece of info, her becoming tournament director. really not a surprise considering that she loves the tournament so much & contributes 2 it alot.
