Well hi! I believe you added me on msn!
I'm up for having fun, but right now the ladies final is about to begin, and I would like to see some of it, even though I don't really like Justine, and I can't stand Mauresmo!

Well, it is a pity that the atmosphere is rather bad but I think that we should call a spade a spade... We have one rotten apple in the basket here; a poster who calls herself a Kim-fan but is very negative about Kim. Some other CCL-ers believe that all this person says is the Gospel. Others are really fed up with it, though not everyone is voicing it as loud as I do.

How do we go from here? Time will tell. I will pop in this Lounge from time to time, I will not let myself be chased away by the rotten apple. Hopefully, once the rotten apple notices that the majority of the CCL-ers do not like it, it will disappear and spoil another party.

2000-2007: My "Kim years". My best years as a tennis fan. A few bitter losses but a lot of great matches and great wins. Thank you, Kim Clijsters!
26.03.2009: More Kim years to come!

There was a time when some people like Fiona and others (I can think of Kattie, Mandy as well) were very good at making Captions, writing limericks, telling jokes and that kept us going A shame those don't go on anymore but I suppose that would be a way to get back in the atmosphere.

Le temps de la colère, les femmes
Notre temps, est arrivé
Connaissons notre force, les femmes
Découvrons-nous des milliers !

Well, most of us would be very glad if Fiona went back to the captions business instead of endlessly repeating that Kim is no longer motivated and needs a coach.
We have heard it by now so trying to hammer it in our head for the umpteenth time really won't convince us CCL-ers who think that Kim is doing quite OK this year. She just got to only her second Wimbledon semi of her career so as far as I am concerned, she's doing fine. I mean, give her Sharapova in her semi and I'm pretty sure Kim would have played the final.

I have to say I find it very unfair and quite distressing that Fiona is being made a scapegoat here. She is hardly the only person who has voiced her feelings of discontent. When did this place turn into a dictatorship where only feel good opinions were acceptable? While I have never been a prolific poster, in the last few months I have often found myself starting a post and then just hitting the delete button because I was spending too much time worrying about whether my post might offend someone. It is really sad when you find you have to censor yourself because of a perceived uneasy and tense environment.

I have always believed that this forum is the one place where we as Kim fans are amongst 'friends'. And if you cannot be open and honest with friends what is the point of having a forum? I would much rather read somebody's honest, from the gut opinion than something that was only written to please others. Let’s please not get away from being upfront and open. We all have different personalities and we have to respect that. I can’t tell you how often I have logged on to this forum in a miserable mood because Kim lost another match and after reading the day’s posts had my mood completely lifted. Other times I have logged on, to end up completely depressed because of the gloom and doom and while I don’t always agree with the negative criticisms, I absolutely and 100% defend anyone’s right to voice them.

Please, please, please can we not just leave the personal attacks on people out of it?

Getting to the actual question posed in this thread, I am sure the forum will come back to life soon. It is summer after all and frankly with the football world cup taking place at the same time I know I have spread myself pretty thin the last month Isn’t anyone else exhausted? One thing I have noticed is that in the past there would be a lot more articles posted about Kim which inevitably lead to more traffic on the forum. Lately there just hasn’t been any juicy subject matter to get into. Where is all the gossip (the good, fun, healthy kind)?

i absolutely agree with you!
maybe i can´t say too much about the past in this forum, because my membership here isn´t as long as yours...but in general, i share some of your ideas
i think most of the guys here in this forum want to have fun and share some information about tennis or whatever ...the personal attacks just destroy the positve mood here

Finally she´s back!:

i generally do agree with panda here. i think this place has been severly lacking in articles and stuff, topics where people can discuss etc. i like the insights like people like naomi, panda, alfie provide . and personally for me, i do find it disheartening sometimes when i post pictures/articles etc and they do not get a response at all. i'm not saying i'm an attention-seeker, but i did those to generate responses, to get people to talk, and it's not happening

lastly, i dont see why fiona has to be made a scapegoat. i dont think hagar should keep making vile attacks to fiona. i dont care what issues they have with each other, but they should be kept outside of this forum. while i am more of an optimist than fiona is, i dont have any problems with fiona dissecting kim the way she does. everyone has a viewpoint and we should respect that. it's great to hear fiona's viewpoints and then hear naomi's, which are usually different from fiona. why should we only hear the good and ban the negative?

now I feel bad for not having posted much in, oh, a year lol...but I love CCL so I guess we all just have to get pumped about hard court season and contribute more and stuff (rich coming from me, I know )....and respect everyones opinion...but I think that's been said a zillion times so basically I've just repeated what everyone else has been saying, but hey at least I posted for once!

posts like this one are definitely not an answer.
it's a forum for f's sake! if fiona feels like saying stuff like that, she can do that! if she doesn't feel like spending her time endlessly captioning pics, she doesn't have to!
and if you don't feel like agreeing with stuff she or anyone else says, simply post your opinion.
see, that's what forums usually are about- discussing

and another thing: maybe it wouldn't be bad to stop looking for problems in places where they basically don't exsist?

Love is a lie, which means I've been lied to...

Hagar, speaking of rotten apples, your have started all sorts of misery with your namecalling and mean and spiteful posts in GM, Justine's lounge, and in CCL. If you are a Kim fan, at least spare her forum from it.

Thinking back to to the great days of CCL, gooberism was a big part of its success. So bring on the wedding, I say.

Thanks you Kimikim for starting the thread. Looks like some of us were just waiting for somebody to get the ball rolling and get us back to some lighthearted talk

Pinkie, I agree with you about the gooberism during the Lleyki days providing a lot of subject matter (even though in those days I was just a dirty lurker) and there is no reason we can't have a little frivolity here just as long as it doesn't overtake the more profound and serious debates. There is always room for a little lowbrow entertainment. Since you bring up the wedding, maybe the resident goobers could organize a mock wedding for Kim & Brian
