KIM Clijsters said overnight she will will shake off the pain of chronic arthritis to play for Belgium against Russia in the women's Fed Cup at the end of next month.
"I would be delighted to play in the Fed Cup for Belgium alongside Justine (Henin-Hardenne)," said Clijsters on her website.
"I'll be doing everything I can to be fully fit in Liege on April 22 and 23, when we'll send Belgium into the semi-final.
"If all goes well I'll then try to hold on to that form all the way to Roland-Garros (French Open)."
Clijsters has come under criticism from some quarters after her surprising second-round exit from the recent Miami WTA event at the hands of American Jill Craybas, ranked 54th in the world.
Former coach Marc Dehous even went public to say she should consider taking a year out of tennis to get over her troubles.
But Clijsters said: "It doesn't seem to be the right solution, knowing that my arthritis is not going to disappear overnight."
She added: "Despite losing in Miami, I'm very satisfied with my season so far.
"I won in Hong Kong, reached the semi final of the Australian Open and got to the final in Antwerp."
