Warsaw 05

I didn't know whether to start a thread yet but thought it would have to made soon anyway And i have a question that maybe someone can answer about the seeds for Warsaw.

This is the latest entry list

MAIN DRAW

Acceptance list Country WTA Ranking
1. MAURESMO Amelie FRA 2
2. KUZNETSOVA Svetlana RUS 7
3. ZVONAREVA Vera RUS 11
4. SCHNYDER Patty SUI 13
5. DECHY Nathalie FRA 14
6. BOVINA Elena RUS 15
7. SCHIAVONE Francesca ITA 16
8. SUAREZ Paola ARG 19
9. HENIN-HARDENNE Justine BEL 21
10. HANTUCHOVA Daniela SVK 22
11. FARINA ELIA Silvia ITA 23
12. MALEEVA Magdalena BUL 30
13. SMASHNOVA Anna ISR 35
14. KOUKALOVA Klara CZE 38
15. DOUCHEVINA Vera RUS 40
16. GROENEFELD Anna-Lena GER 41
17. BENESOVA Iveta CZE 46
18. VENTO-KABCHI Maria VEN 49
19. IVANOVIC Ana SCG 50
20. SHAUGHNESSY Meghann USA 53
21. RAZZANO Virginie FRA 55
22. CLIJSTERS Kim [WC*] BEL 133
23. WC
24. WC
25. Q
26. Q
27. Q
28. Q

Kim is now number 17 in the world, seedings are done on the week befores rankings so Kim will be number 17 when she plays Warsaw as next week is Fed Cup and in Charleston final is Lena D and JHH so whoever wins won't change Kim's ranking (Had Golovin beaten JHH she'd have passed Kim but she is 18). Does this mean Kim can be seeded 7 (Schiavone is now 19 and Suarez 26) or because she is a wc she won't be seeded? She has the ranking to get the 7th seed I just don't know if the wc changes it.

Normally, she is going to be seeded!

Sweet as Belgian Chocolate, Bubbly as Champagne

"When you do your best, it's always good enough" - Kim Clijsters

"No matter what happens, you have to try to stay positive, bad things can happen, but if you try to stay positive, something positive will come out of it…I believe that everything happens for a reason" - Kim Clijsters

"Goed is de ergste vijand van zeer goed" - Pascal Smet

"Als je iemand idealiseert, verlies je het contact met de werkelijkheid"

"Ca s’apprend par la souffrance, ça s’apprend par les déceptions, ça s’apprend par la densité du mal que ça te fait, plus ça te fait mal et plus ça te fait grandir. Y a des moments où tu te dis je ne vais pas le supporter, ça, ça fait trop mal, et pourtant tu passes au travers."

Yes, I asked TBE and they said it didn't matter she is in on a wc, like I thought it goes by the rankings. Pretty amazing to think just before IW she was 133 and now probably seeded at a tier2!

Also Likhovtseva who is number 16 withdrew and she is only just ahead of Kim in points so if Kim can play well she could get into top 16

When does this tourney start? The 18th or the 25th?

I think it's the 25th. It's Fed Cup this week (I think)

This week (April 18) the tour is all about Fed Cup, but the week after that the focus shifts on over toward our KIMMIE!!!! It'll be here before you know it. I'm anxious to start supporting Kimmie on the dirt. Clay season won't officially began until she plays her first match on the dirt... best of luck to her!!

Hope the weather in Bree is better than it is in the south of the UK, where we are having torrential rain and generally crap weather which is hardly conducive to practising on clay!

Patiently waiting to join the silver surfers

I'm a little bit afraid that 3 clay tournies before RG is a bit too much. Would prefer Kim to drop one of the three coz I don't see her go out in the first round...

2000-2007: My "Kim years". My best years as a tennis fan. A few bitter losses but a lot of great matches and great wins. Thank you, Kim Clijsters!
26.03.2009: More Kim years to come!

I think she will probably wait and see how she goes in Warsaw and Berlin and see how she is feeling before deciding on Rome.

it's actually quite nice in bree for now, seeing that the last fews days have been quite dark and rainy, that's what I meant!
for you that might be cold, I'm glad when it doesn't rain!

Its been dry for a whole five or six hours in South Wales today. The sky is a really strange colour - its BLUE! - and there's this big round yellow thing shining in this strange blue sky, we aren't quite sure what to make of it. Can anyone help, we're getting quite scared and we want to know who stole our clouds!
